How long did it take for you to get through the tests? These "loading audio file" times are a freaking waste of time....

Firstly, if you're going to talk about a famous dude that you really respect, you ought to spell his name correctly. Ted Leonsis.

Second, I don't think I've seen that movie before, but pretty much all movies about Nanjing are going to be really emotional to watch. I've seen "City of Life and Death;" holycrap prepare to be emotionally terrorised.
Yeah. On phone and forgot.

Same movie :) Nanking IS The city of life and Death

The timbre ones on the gold level are stupid. It's all about memorisation and not what you can hear. XD

Like hell people are going be all like "yo, I hear a dip at teh 300 Hz." Nah, they just say the midrange is lacking body.

Yeah it's dumb...the second timbre one and the detail one are too hard for me. The rest is doable.

Have you ever been to the sound science section? :D
Oh and I read a review here a few days ago where someone claimed that he can hear stuff below 16Hz.

The hypest challenge for all audiophools!
Let's see how wooden my ears really are ^^

https://www.goldenears.philips.com/en/introduction.html

Gear: Macbook Pro phone out -> Philips SHE3580 ($10 ear bud)
Pretty speed through all the tests except for these:

Stuff I had trouble with:
  1. Silver ears - reverb less than 20% wet
  2. Silver ears - compression artifact @119kbps
  3. Golden ears - frequency bands in music (wasn't too bad but you need to know what each freq sounds like.)

Stuff I cannot differentiate at all (passed with pure luck):
  1. Silver ears - compression artifact @128kbps

Welp, I might as well convert my entire library to MP3 now to save space lol.

Ain't nothing wrong with v0 mp3 or the equivalent AAC.

Nah, I've dumped all my music onto my server.
aint got enough space on my laptop :p

But yeah, I probably wont be able to get rid of my lossless keeping habit for a while.......

  How's everyone doing this friday?

It's Saturday afternoon here, but I'm going good thanks. Made some money day trading, but more importantly, I'm getting more experienced. :D:D

But yeah, I probably wont be able to get rid of my lossless keeping habit for a while.......

Yeeep, I'm sure most of us went through that phase.

Nowadays, if I had the choice between lossless and mp3....I just get the mp3's.

I'm pretty sure one of my friends set up some nifty rsync thing on his Linux server that lets you transcode files from FLAC to whatever you want on the fly. I can ask him for the code if you want Borisu.
