I briefly played with the new ipad pro in store...sweet baby jesus it's smooth, I've never seen a high refresh rate display before.

It was impressive enough even with a relatively slow IPS panel, I wonder how it'll look on an OLED display. If it makes it into the new iPhone then every manufacturer will have to follow which maaaybe means high refresh rate monitors will become a bit more affordable? plz

Yeah I used to set my CRT monitor to 75 hz way back in the day and people said it was useless but I could see strobing effect on mouse movements below 60 hz. It's one of those things where your brain really adjusts though. I don't blame people for saying they can't go back to 30-60 hz after having 120+ but in reality you can, and it's not that big of a loss, you just have to re-adjust to it.

I can't go back to sub-75 Hz monitors. My LG Ultrawide made that apparent. But then I also can't go back to sub-100 Hz, because the Asus Ultrawide at the office made that apparent. But then my non-ultrawide at the office is 60 Hz. Woe is me.

But what I'm saying is you say you can't go back but you can and it's not that bad. It's not the same as saying "I cant go back to 480p". I'd say it's close to how I say I cant go back to TN from IPS when in reality it's not that bad of a drop.

I can still go back to sub 10 fps. In fact, I do it all the time.

My days of gaming on servers on the other side of the world with an iGPU as well as playing a stupidly modded Skyrim has paid off...

120 fps in Skyrim with my mods will be nice though...

--------
Sadly, thanks to my PC and my XPS, I can no longer tolerate 2 spf like the boss I once was. It can't be lower than one frame per second now... :frowning2:

take a screenshot, print it, stick it on your monitor and win like a real gamer! no more excuses.

Oh, God, I have flashbacks from running Crysis on my old, already outdated back then PC out of curiosity. The demo started in a forest, where I had not-so-respectable 20-30 FPS.

Then I got to a wide open beach and it took 20+ seconds to render a frame during combat. RIP
