LAiV Harmony R2R µDAC

General Information

The Laiv Harmony µDAC is the latest addition to the Harmony family and promises to be one of the most affordable and high-performance DACs in the industry. It is based on the design of its bigger brother, the Harmony DAC, and shares its two (virtually identical) ladder banks and class-A output buffers. In keeping with the less-is-more philosophy, the µDAC comes in a compact form factor that is easy to integrate into a desktop setup.

You won't have to wait long, they're delivering the µDAC to me today
Do you still own Gustard A26? It would be interesting to read some comparisons, sir. Btw you can do some initial review and then some edits after few days or weeks when things settle down a bit.

A26 is supposed to sound very airy so it is nice in its own way. I am looking forward to read your review.

At the moment I own a Cen Grand DSDAC 1.0 Deluxe and I will do the comparisons with it

My experience with the LAiV micro DAC
When it was released by LAiV I bought it direct and got a discount so $956 to the door
At the same time ordered a custom LPS 15/2 per spec from Pine Tree Audio in a black metal box to match all the other black metal boxes for $300 to the door
So all in $1256
Having had it long enough to form an opinion, I am keeping it
I really like it and think it is a good value for the money
Will probably buy the expensive remote at some point
Using Benchmark balanced to RCA cables with the floating pin adapter into a SET tube amplifier
I don’t feel qualified to say it is better or worse than any particular DAC but it did replace a Cyan 2
and I don’t miss the Cyan 2
