Pros: Great sound
Cons: Tips can be troublesome.
The 272 would have to be one of my favourite IEM's ever. To get the best out of them I prefer it amped.
The detail these things have is nothing short of outstanding. Bass is quick well defined and refined.
So if you like your bass in ya face....not for you. These are about quality not quantity. Only negative for me was I found the tips did not suit my particular ear shape, so getting the right kinda seal is always fiddling about for a while, but once found and then paired with a decent amp you forget about the hassle.
The 272 is special, Its a sure shame they stopped making these.

Pros: The Original & still the best
Cons: Tips can hurt at first because of deep insert
For a non Custom IEM that has everything in spades you cant go past his guy.
Get the adapter and becomes S model and amped raises the bar again.

Pros: Detailed & musical
Cons: Slight Hiss with sensative IEM's
Here we have quite an amazing little player. Built like a tank, small enough to fit in shirt pocket, simple stylish design. Sound is where this guy excels, very detailed musical fast. Takes flac files which i love, also you can add to its storage also as it accepts memory cards.
My only real gripe, well two really but 1st one is probably my fault as i dont know how to navigate through its UI properly, but only issue I find as I use Sensitive Custom IEM's is that I hear some Hiss when no Music. But this is not a deal breaker....If this gets fixed in a firmwear update then Jack would have a Monster PLayer.......

I've heard a lot of complaints about the UI. Is it really that bad?

Well it can be a lot better, put it that way. Plus You obviously have to work out how to navigate your way around it.
Guess Im not that good at it....Probably spoilt be easy ipod ui.

The UI hasn't changed since the AMP3 Pro1/2 days. It's slightly less frustrating over the S:Flo2/Teclast 51 DAPs, but still frustrating to say the least. IMO, the iPod had and still have the best UI in a DAP.

Hi,
Great to see someone near this brand. i am about to get the Calyx Dac 24/192 but then i saw reviews about the ref 7.1 and asked Kingwa what would be the right dac for my taste (rock, indian, latin, pop new age etc) and he told me to go better with the NFB7.32 (ESS sabre) instead of the REF7.1 cuase of my music taste cuase the 7.32 is faster and more dynamic,
Any suggestions
Regards

Pros: Bass Low & Boneshattering deep desnt bleed into other Frequencies
Cons: None
My Goto Live Album Warrior, this thing is amazing at the venue feel with bone shaking bass that does not bleed into any other frequencies. Is no Slouch infact he is Very fast...a perfect compliment to the Miracle, UM have got themselves one hell of an IEM..

What's up with the isolation? Its not that good?

Well 4 stars is very good mate........I didnt give it 5 only because while in you can still barely here outside noise, but certainly not a deal breaker in any way.

Pros: Quite possibly the best Custom on the market
Cons: None
Just a sheer joy to Listen to, UM's Flagship will certainly provide even the fussiest ears a wonderfull experience with any genre of Music thrown at it. Even better still, step up the source & amp and Miracle will also upscale accordingly. Its a winner all the way.....

Better source Will help, but also try and use Flac or Lossless files so as to get the best out of them. You can only get out what you put into em. I would say same would go with your HD800. You have top quality gears Alan why waste all that with Lossy MP3 files?

well, the thing about portability is that you have to live with the fact that you can not achieve the best performance. I mean I do have 192/24 flac files form HDtracks and many SACDs, but they are all for my desktop setups, you need a dedicated DAC to decode those insane files~~~ I just hope that I can find the best DAP to power this baby cause I need it to sound at least half as good as my desktop setups.
If you have a chance to try an ED8, you will know what I mean buy sounding good even on mp3 files. I am just trying to get similar level of sound out of my custom while I have the best isolation also~~~

if you are looking for a best portable DAP compact, DX100 will do the job, it can handle up to 192/24 but it's not cheap though. Otherwise, i won't see a point in getting separate portable amp and dac at the same time attaching to your phone or mp3 player, they aren't worth for portability except looking like a C4 detonator....
