Shanling Q1 - Retro-Styled Portable Hi-Fi Music Player
My Q1 has been randomly freezing or 'glitching' during playback. When it freezes, I have to hold down the power button and do a reset to get it to turn off (none of the buttons or screen works). When I turn it back on, it works for a little while but then freezes again. Any thought on how to...- BigDave

Astell&Kern Launches USB-C Dual DAC Cable
Are you using it out of a phone or a computer? It goes freakishly loud for me on my computer but taps out on my android phone. I believe it can only do 2V on a phone but 4V output on the computer?- BigDave

Astell&Kern Launches USB-C Dual DAC Cable
Hmmm, I have contacted UAPP through their email and they said "Ah, I understand what you mean. You'd like to see a different curve for the volume control. That is planned. I'll see if I can expedite it." I was trying to explain in detail to them and hopefully they understood. I just do not...- BigDave

Astell&Kern Launches USB-C Dual DAC Cable
Using UAPP Pro with my pee51 (in bit perfect where possible) and I am finding the volume quite low (75-80% volume for normal listening with my iems) but only need 20-25% when using Poweramp for the same volume with the same iems . What am I doing wrong in UAPP for such a difference in gain...- BigDave

I doubt it. they have a sale on it at the moment, but when I put it in my cart the sale price did not come up , just the original price. Just checked again and now it has gone back up? Weird.- BigDave

I tried emailing Linsoul about that cable and they were confused as to what I was asking. I have sent them a picture to hopefully show diagrammatically that I wish to know the diameter of the plastic sheath around the 2.5mm mono plug but they haven't got back to me yet. From my rough...- BigDave

Yeah, I have the website up, ready to pull the pin on these if I knew more. Good find, as I could not find that cable in their Audio Cables section. Had to search. I have a couple of "cheapy" cables that I got off eBay, but they are a bit meh.- BigDave

I also like the look of that cable, ilianto. The only issue would be the size of the 2.5mm connectors. shame they do not mention it on the site!- BigDave

Sigh, well the break is definitely at the left hand side 2.5mm jack. I have tried pulling back the rubber surround and seeing if there is a visible break that I could just solder but there isn't. May just need to make a whole new connection. I have not had a cable break on a headphone before...- BigDave

I just pulled out my original nighthawk cable (not balanced) as I had replaced it long ago with some cheap ones on ebay. I remember them dropping out on the left hand side and now there is no sound out of the left. Is it worth repairing these? Easy to do? I cannot seem to find if anyone had...- BigDave

iBasso DX90 Bug Thread - Post Any Firmware Bugs/Issues Here
Sigh, I am getting the random drop-outs on my dx90. I generally have my player on random. Only a 64gb card in it, Samsung evo plus. On firmware 2.5.1 Anyone else experiencing these random dropouts still? Was it solved? I cannot find it in the thread. cheers- BigDave

XDuoo X3 DSD 24Bit / 192KHz CS4398 Chip Lossless Music Player
What have people upgraded to from the x3? My battery life is shot on the x3 and I had not used my ibasso dx50 for a while and it will not charge properly either. Is the new x3 mark 2 a worthy upgrade?- BigDave

Yamaha HPH-200 (Pictures and review) [Updated]
Well, they are all open but the hph200 are the most forgiving and have the most bass presence. The grado's are clearer, more analytical but not as fun. The yamaha's were a bargain for what I paid, and only a third of the cost of the grado's. Gotta keep things in perspective. I do not listen...- BigDave

I still have not heard anything back from Hidizs. Surely they must be back from New Year holidays by now? Anyone else having issues contacting them? Well, it is not the female input jack, thank god. I swapped the sides of the cable and it cut out on the other side, so definitely the cable. Tried cleaning the ends to no avail. I also tried the other cable that it came with (the thin one) and that one is broken at the jack connection...- BigDave
