A few quick nuby questions regarding mono and stereo plugs..
Hi guys, I'm about to start to build my own cables and I've been wondering. I know with the 1/4 and 1/8 plugs we need stereo plugs (assuming mini to RCA) since stereo would provide a left and right channel. What I'm wondering is, will there ever be any use for a mono 1/4 or 1/8 plugs for...- azneinstein

Grado.. 60 or 80?
Cool... I finally might be able to give a small bit of advice (Nuby moving on up).... SR-60s were my first phones that got me into this whole "head-fi"... I liked them and I thought that the SR-80s would be better since I thought the bass on the 60s were a bit weak for my taste. However, I did...- azneinstein

which one is better Sennheiser HD280 .......or GRADO SR 60 i am in dilemma plese help
I just recently picked up the HD280 here and my first headphones were the SR60s. It's true that you can't really compare them, one's open, one's closed. For rock music, I love the SR60s. For rap, I prefer the HD280s... also- at first the 280s sounded horrid to me... until I hooked it up to my...- azneinstein

Alrite, I'm starting to get this. When I did a search, I also read where somebody wanted to connect a DAC to their powerbook? Whats the of that? edit: Also, what do the bits stand for? I see CD-players with a "24-bit sampling" and some with 10 bit? is the more bit the better?- azneinstein

Nuby needs help! What's the use of a DAC?
Hi guys, I'm still really new to this, and I keep hearing about it. I know what it is- Digital-analog converter... but what exactly does it do? Soupy (sorry for using your name) was selling a NEC cd-transport with a link where someone connected it to a DAC- and apparently it sounded really good...- azneinstein

Two quick questions: Sony headphones and beyerdynamic velour
I totally would buy the velour pads from beyerdynamic, but I searched the site and I couldn't find a U.S. retailer. And I think shipping from Germany would be on the expensive side. Anybody know any online retailers selling these two things?- azneinstein
