    Equinox cable is giddy good

Well the Equinox is worth the price of admission and the long wait. Fantastic balance, resolution and construction. I only have the stock cable for comparison and there is no contest. The stock cable chokes off the sound big time versus the Equinox. Burn in time was about 125 hours.

    some dishonesty in the Truthlinks

I got a set of 1m RCA Harmonic Tech Truthlinks a couple of weeks ago from Audiogon in hopes that I would gain some bass extension, move the midrange up some (more forward), and put the highs slightly back on the soundstage. Comparisons made are against the JPS Superconductor+. Well, the...

    RVG & Japanese remasters

I got the RVG remastered Birth of the Cool from Best Buy for $10. Sounds pretty good for a 1949 recording. Does anyone have other RVG remasters, Japanese 20+ bit remasters or XRCDs? Red Trumpet has a crap load of these. Just wondering if they were worth the high prices.

    Denon v. nOrh

Picked up a "refurbished" Denon DCM-370 for $113 at ubid to use as a source in second setup. I did a quick comparison with my nOrh CD-1. The Denon has good tone and does not add any extra harshness to CDs. It has a laid-back top end that makes it easy to listen to without fatigue. What...

    Cyber-20 impressions

Got the Cyber-20 a couple of days ago. After 20hrs of burn in the sound was not very good. Hard midrange, ultra extended highs. Bass had good snap though. I was impatient so I put the power tubes I had in the MG-Head (Sovtek EL84M) into the Cyber. and there it was. Midrange with great...

    CD Stoplight/CD Blacklight

Does anyone have these?? Just curious. Could be a good tweak if they worked. (or at least caused a psychological sound enhancement).

    311 aging well

So I thought this band was toast when the sub-par Transistor was released. The "sell out" nightmares have ceased, as Soundsystem and the new From Chaos albums are definate thumbs up. If you want to see em live... no prob.-- they're always on tour.
