How much does that norh cd1 cost? I'm thinking of seperating my bedroom system into two systems, and tubes would be nice

The Opera does not have a warm presentation, the MG Head has a fuller, more lush sound. It really depends on the tubes (and the stock ones are intolerable). The build quality is fantastic and serves as a great platform for tube rolling, although I have yet to try NOS. Right now I am using SovtekEL84M and (RCA?)12AU7A cleartop and the sound is very detailed, tons of air and clarity in the highs, mids are a little distant and bass is tight but not super extended. Tried the Ei EL84s and they have better bass and a fuller midrange but are noisy (is that the right term for the hiss/scratch I am hearing?)

The nOrh is $799. You cannot go wrong with this player, unless you want to try the new formats SACD, DVD-A.
