Shanghai Head-Fi "Micro-Meet" (TTVJ and Meier)

I didn't expect you to really create a thread in regards to our nano meet . Too bad the other guy didn't show up.   Anyway, I hope this thread could help anyone who is wondering how these amps perform/compare to each other.

Meier Audio Quickstep (also Stepdance and 2Stepdance) Discussion and Impressions Thread

@cooperpwc: Are you located in Shanghai? I have TTVJ portable (not the millet hybrid portable) with me and I'm going to Shanghai tomorrow, will be there for a week or so. PM me if you want to meet up and do a TTVJ slim vs meier stepdance comparison. I've been wondering the performance of...

Is it worth hundreds of dollars for upgraded headphone cables?

In my opinion, the cable material, length and size would change the signature of a phone. Those 3 factors change the total resistance of your headphone. I believe we'll see a slight change in frequency response with different cable being used. I also believe this slight change won't always lead...

Should I Still Amp My IEM Even If I Have A Good Source?

I was somehow in a similar boat few months back. However I regretted my purchase and wished the money would have been better to be spent on desktop amp to drive my harder-to-drive cans. Hope this helps.

Recommened company to reshell/remould and recable SE530's

AFAIK, ear impressions do shrink in time. Make sure you decide this quick enough. Unique Melody did mine and turned out nicely.

Quote: You can connect those to the 2x3 pin XLR balanced headphone, however you are going to need an adaptor (XLR gender changer), since the 2x3 pin XLR preamp output are male and your 2x3 pin XLR balanced phone are male too. You can use these preamp out as amp out anyway.

Canon 50mm f/1.2 L, talk me out of it.

Will you be using the 50mm f/1.2L for studio purpose? Reason I ask this is because most of the time you will set the F down to f/8, 11 or more when used in studio. I don't find really big aperture lenses useful to be used in studio. Unless you need them for low light purposes, then it's not...

Review of TTVJ Portable (Slim) with UE 11Pro

Two things that I hate on TTVJ slim are: first the LED is way too bright, even I had to cut down a small size black electrical tape to cover it up, now I can sleep more easily at night; secondly, the gain switch is kinda too recessed and I couldn't access it even with my nail.   I use the...

TF 10 remold OR add drivers?

Quote: No. The bass quantity is way much more. There is sibilance as well. The mid is still recessed, mid bass is too dominant. By looking at the frequency response, you can tell. The reason why there isn't much talk about this is because the sound isn't as good as what you people...

Customs keep "popping" out of seal!

Do you have any oil excess on your ears? I find my seals to break easily if I get too much oil. Once I washed them, it's damn tight. Hope this helps. As for question no. 2, I don't really get what you mean by 'popping sound'.

    Customs vs Universal IEMs

Quote:   JiPod,    I'm no expert here, however, I think the possible cause of the muddiness is the more recessed 200Hz-1kHz compared to stock one. If you could use eq, try to play around and see what happens. Let us know.

    Customs vs Universal IEMs

Jipod, could you please upload the frequency response of your se530 custom 6 drivers? I believe muddiness is not something like the ear drum is being overwhelmed with too much information. Lower frequency range that is too forward might make the higher frequency range sounds recessed, hence the...

    Unique Melody Remold Impressions Thread

What does the 680 Ohm white filter do? What effect does it have to the high freq? As for the cables, I believe different cable manufacturers might require different sockets, hence you need to specify what cable you are going to use it with (UM will have to provide you the sockets for that, I think).

    Unique Melody Remold Impressions Thread

Can anyone please comment on comparison of the tfp10 and tfp with mid driver freq charts? It seems the bass and treble are boosted and the mid is still recessed. @obrienk: what would you expect by looking at the freq chart they gave you?

    UE Triple Fi 10 Problem

It happened to me too for no reason. Don't know what happened but it came off so easily. Because my iem is no longer covered by warranty, I just put super-glue on the edges of the circle. Now it's fine.
