    I think I broke my DT770/80's

I wouldn't bet any money but I'd say its the hair. I have had this happen numerous times... with my koss ksc-35 and Beyer 770 - all of a sudden pretty loud distortion in one of the phones. Just take off the pads and remove any hair.

    Amplifying 250 ohm headphones

There is a Xenos 3HA on sale at the 'For sale' forum. I found this at the Xenos homepage 'The amplifier has two modes of operation, low and high power delivering up to 485mW or 755mW RMS per channel into 32 ohm impedance.' So, would it power my 250 ohm phones. I wouldn't want to buy...

    Amplifying 250 ohm headphones

Ouch! I just received pocketamp v2 from Gary + bought an adapter for it (because it had the US type adapter). At high volumes there is much distortion. And at the same volumes I get no distortion from my Audiophile USB. I emailed Gary, he suggested charging the batteries for 12 h. Thats...

    Amplifying 250 ohm headphones

Ok, I now understand that i was talking gibberish, cuz RCA doesn't have any amplification. Please recommend me the best value amplifyer for the dt-770 250 ohm. The cheaper, the better. Would be great if was both battery and electric powered. But battery isn't that imporant.

    Amplifying 250 ohm headphones

I know Sorry for my wallet. But for now, would that help Quote: Would it help if I bought some adapter and plugged the phones into the RCA output of the soundcard?

    Amplifying 250 ohm headphones

I just received a pair of DT-770's! Happy, joy. The thing is, I dont have any headphone amps. First I tried with my laptop soundcard.. very bad. Was a bit dissapointed. Then I tried with SoundBlaster Live!, that had settings set to 2 speakers.. sounded like above.. I had mixed feelings...

    NEW BEYER REFRESH TOO! 990, 880, 770!

I think you could do the engraving yourself, after you bought them. But the different color accessories is where its really at. I like the default colour the best so its all good. Although a black Beyer with a 'Darth Beyer' engraving is also tempting

    NEW BEYER REFRESH TOO! 990, 880, 770!

I ordered the 2006 version of the DT770 from a local internet store. They said their german warehouse should have it in 1-4 weeks, then it has to get here etc. The waiting game begins.

    NEW BEYER REFRESH TOO! 990, 880, 770!

So has anyone here tried the 32 ohm version of the dt770 yet? Another question: how well would the 250 ohm version run out of M-Audio Audiophile USB's headphone port? I know its not the ideal source but is it enough?

    Sennheiser PX100 or AKG K 26P?

IMO px100 don't sound great at all. Bass is so loud and other ranges are really weak and dull.

    Should I get some HD201s?

IMHO HD201 phones suck so bad. My friend just bought a pair. Compared to hd202 they are lifeless and thin. Puny, bad bass. This is my oppionion but I would avoid them.

    Uh oh, KSC-35's falling apart!!

Mine fell apart. The clip on one of them got really loose, and came off often. Then I lost it. I really miss them.

    HFI-700 vs. DT880

At about the same pricerange (or less) what do you consider punchy (but not much sacrificing other characteristics)?

    HFI-700 vs. DT880

How do HFI-700 match against DT880? Im searching for phones for myself and tested the HFI-700's the other day. They sounded pretty good but there was one major drawback: in synthetic sounds (e.g. not natural instruments - with what they sounded great btw) there was this annoying sound in the...

    Think...CHEAP! :D

Well I think you are better off with Sennheiser HD202. I have the PX100, KSC35 and HD202. As for the sound, i like the hd202 the most (but I listen to electronic music so maybe thats why.). Nice sounding highs, very nice bass, ok mids. BTW they are easier to drive than the PX100's for example...

    (MX 500's vs. KSC-35's) vs. Grado 60's

For me (a basshead, trance fan) the ksc35's have too little low-bass. Its all about upper bass with them. Especially if you use them outside then the bass disappears even more. (PX100s are great in these conditions with their somewhat weaker highs - they balance out outside.) Gotta admit that...

headphone buyers database - opinions/help wanted

Awesome idea! A year ago I thought about something like this and how helpful it could be. No more threads like.. "I want 100$ closed phone, for rock music", you could then just filter out these phones on the website. And better keep it open for those who have alot of phones so they now teh...

    Portable bass.

I would like to say that I decided to buy the PX100. Got a bargain on them too. These are my initial impressions. I think they are really nice. i really like their fold-up design (great portables). Bass response is great Highs I think could be louder. They are pretty layed back. One thing is...

    Portable bass.

I would like to know what would be the best portable bass headphone out there. I love bass and I will get the DT770 one day but right now I need something portable. My sister has the ksc-35's that I bought her and they are really nice and thumpy. But maybe there are portable phones that have...
