Not exactly Hi-fi, but seriously good and really cool

THRU YOU | Kutiman mixes YouTube Kutiman took you tube videos, mashed them up, and created an album out of it. I would recommend checking it out. Here is a review of his unrelated album: Kutiman | Pitchfork

    Windows 7 0404 difficulties -- Resolved w/ Fix

This has probably been answered before, but I searched for awhile and couldn't find anything. I just upgraded to the Windows 7 beta. I installed the 0404 usb drivers without a problem. The vista 64 worked really well. I can play music on Foobar, because I was able to choose the output...

Musician's Friend backorder - Does anyone have any experience with them?

I have some Audio-Technica AD900s on back order from musician's friend. The phones were listed as in stock when I bought them, but then they sent me the back order notice. So I'm not particularly happy with them in the first place, but ok, fine. Then they said they would be in stock on 1-8-09...

Pulling the trigger hesitation -- How long do you stare at the confirm button?

I think I had all of my information put in to buy ath-ad900s for about twenty minutes before I brought myself to click the complete transaction. I had already decided, but then I reread a slew of reviews before going through with it. Now I'm pretty happy. I'll post my thoughts when they...

Where to buy ATH-AD900 / recommendations

Is Audiocubes the best place to buy these phones? How fast is shipping? Also, would the audio-technica ad900 sound suit my needs? I mostly listen to: folk acoustic stuff female vocals rock progressive indie-rock some: electronic stuff post-rock hip-hop house...

    FLAC codec for Nero Burner

I keep finding .exes, which don't look too safe. Can anyone help me find a codec so that I can burn my archived flac to CDs?

    I have lame friends

So I live in Indianapolis, and I want to go to Lollapalooza. I've been yearning to go to concerts all summer. Everyone has turned me down (cost, doesn't like music, blah blah). All I want is one person to go with to a two day long freaking music festival. Is that so incredibly difficult to find...

Planning an Upgrade Path with Father's Day Looming

Here's the background: I didn't get my dad a Birthday present back in February. About a month ago, I had him try my 595s and he couldn't stop raving about them. I was thinking about giving him my 595s for Fathers day to make up for the birthday thing. Also, I saw this as an excuse to upgrade...

Suggest Some Good Places to Buy Shirts

I'm desperately low on T-Shirts. I've been scouting out band websites, but most are pretty fruitless. Which bands have really good shirts for sale online? I already have spoon, cake, the walkmen, mogwai, and a few others, but I'd like more. The Hold Steady has a few good ones too. If not...

    Jukebox the Ghost

I haven't seen these guys mentioned here; which is a shame because they deserve mention. www.jukeboxtheghost.com The leader singer plays the piano. They are sort of Indie rock mixed with a better Ben Folds. I'd describe their music as liquid happiness poured into the ear. Check them out.

    How similar is too similar?

I recently saw these two links about Linkin' park and Nickelback, respectively. One channel plays one song, the other channel plays another song. The Linkin' Park one is actually pretty cool: (Ignore the band bashing) Linkin' Park: http://www.ugcs.caltech.edu/~paymer/...y_the_same.mp3...

    Cheap PC media remote?

I like to listen to music in bed, but I don't want to get up to adjust pesky things like the volume or next track while I'm falling asleep. I'd like a little remote like those mac people have. Also, Foobar compatibility is as must. I would prefer one that isn't too line of sighty, but if IR...

Soothing music for a sick music lover

Here's the deal: I have a nasty fever and a headache. Is there anything smooth and non-abrupt that I could listen to and not be bored? Abrupt changes in volume/pronounced snare hits sort of make my head cringe. Volume doesn't seem to be a problem. If anyone suggests smooth Jazz, I'll smack a ho.

Ear Noise Feedback (Am I weird)

So if I every plug up my ears really well (fingers, shures) and listen, I can hear some high pitched, constant noises. These have been constant for quite a while, but are really low and I can't notice them under normal ear usage. I don't listen to very loud music (in my opinion). About...

Sending back my Grado sr80s for some HD-595s

Little bit of a cost increase, but I think the comfort factor alone will be worth it. I just didn't like the Grados. They weren't very comfy and it was hard to do homework in them. Plus the sound stage was about identical to my Shures (in my head). Oh well, I enjoyed testing them out. Anyway...

War of the Worlds by Jeff Wayne like recommendations

Sort of a strange title. Eh. Anyway, I recently listened to War of the Worlds by Jeff Wayne and was stunned. Is there anything else similar in style or similar in story telling structure? Much appreciated.

Good Soundcard or AMP/DAC setup for a newbie?

I'm a newbie and am just beginning to get an idea of how things work. I also have some extra cash around and my sound card is failing. Also I am ordering some Grado sr80s today. I am only going to use my PC as my music source. Here is my question, should I pour money into a new sound card for...
