I'd like to see if there's a good after market pad that maintains a similar frequency response to the original. I've seen some recommend the Brainwavz XL pads as a good fit. I would guess the sheepskin would be most similar performance but I'm open to other ideas of anyone has had good success.

As a brand HIFIMAN tends to do a lot of development and testing of new materials and processes. The dynamic drivers used in these headphones were an evolution of a driver originally designed for an IEM which was later scaled up to the larger 50mm version used in the R7DX.

Considering these headphones are dual entry Hifiman verified that the R2R bluetooth amp/dac is not compatible with these headphones. They do not have the wiring between the headband that's required for the adapter to work.

@RockSloth I would say they Isolate closer to a semi-open design. Putting on the K245 with nothing playing you can still hear a fair amount of ambient room noise, more than a closed back certainly.

I would say the K240DF is "brighter" in the treble range however they do not come off as sharp or sibilant, but rather clear and smooth in how they render treble details. I'm still formulating my thoughts on the K245 they certainly do some things quite well with regards to low end performance...

These are definitely not rework or resold units. The shipping time is low on these units because they are part of a large batch that went directly into the store. Typically the first drops are smaller batches and would not be available for immediate shipping.

I did spend another $500 to have mine brought up to spec. by a qualified repair shop. I highly recommend doing so if the amp has never been serviced before otherwise you're not going to be getting the most from these vintage amps. I also love the amp has two phono inputs for both my turntables!
