    Denon D2000 screw replacements?

I can check when I get home from work. Hopefully have an answer for you by tomorrow AM. Can you take a pic of exactly where the screw resides?

:sunrise: Official 2015 SF Head-Fi Meet Impressions Thread

I have something to admit: I am a neophyte when it comes to identifying the subtle nuances of any of the equipment I heard. The biggest problem for me is I really don't have a good reference to make any comparisons. I haven't completed my AMB B-22 that I started 6 years ago and I took apart my...

:sunrise: Official 2015 SF Head-Fi Meet Impressions Thread

Thanks again to everyone who helped make this meet fun and successful.   EDIT: Pulled all my pics off and I'll post more later, trying to put some thoughts together before I forget it all.

:sunrise: Official 2015 SF Head-Fi Meet, July 18, 2015, Doubletree San Francisco Airport

This project is really exciting and how I heard about the meet. I can't wait to hear it in action after months of reading the dev threads! Thanks again, amb, for all your hard work. And seriously, everyone that helped put this meet together and who are willing to demo their gear and talent...

:sunrise: Official 2015 SF Head-Fi Meet, July 18, 2015, Doubletree San Francisco Airport

Good call. My wife just read the above and asked if I brought a pen, I said "naw, I'll just dictate voice memos on my phone." I still don't know why she laughed at me, saying how special I am... LOL So I guess I won't be doing that and opt for the pen route instead. Probably best for...

:sunrise: Official 2015 SF Head-Fi Meet, July 18, 2015, Doubletree San Francisco Airport

Oh man. This is my first meet - super pumped. I brought my wife and she just rolls her eyes at me and smiles. I'm hoping to introduce her to this awesome community and how much better music can sound. (Clearly I have failed to finish any of my DIY projects... Haha). Anyway, looking forward to...

    Need Help With CMoy Parts

I built a β22 last September as my first DIY project and loved it. It got up and going quickly with no real hang-ups. I loved everything about the process so much that I bragged about it to the rest of my family. Now my kid brother (12) wants to do his own project and I thought a simple CMoy...

We Got Ti Kan (AMB) an HD800!

I'm in, what do I do now? Sorry, I fell off the head-fi wagon for a few months and only started reading threads today... shame on me Ti has done so much to help me personally, however, I would be majorly remiss if I didn't do something here to help out with this drive. Kudos to all that have...

Are DIY CD or SACD players possible?

Ah, so I guess this is old news... Are there any others besides the Philips CD Pro2?

Are DIY CD or SACD players possible?

I have been thinking about this for a long time, but always afraid to ask the question, but would it be terribly hard to make a cd player? I suppose the hardest parts to source would be the motor, laser, and laser track, but the rest should be fairly simple. Threads like this LCDuino one have...

    More oscilloscope questions

Assuming its in good working order, what is a good price for a Tektronix 465B dual trace 100 MHz oscilloscope? Quote: Originally Posted by deltaydeltax I have a pretty old broken scope I'll sell you for really cheap. One channel kind of works, and the other, well, it did work at one...

    More oscilloscope questions

I'm trying to decide on an oscilloscope to add to my DIY tools, but I'm still a bit lost. As it is, I'm looking at getting a Tektronix 465 because of how well people have said they preform; moreover I emailed a trusted source (I haven't asked to quote him so I will leave his name out) who said...

Looking for a builder to do some case work on a Beta 22

If you don't care that much about the looks and are mostly concerned with the hum, a much cheaper alternative would be to just shield your transformer. From the pics it looks as though it isn't shielded at all. That would be a really easy fix and something you could do yourself. Just a thought.

Why Litz braiding over other styles?

I have a newb question about wire braiding. Is there an advantage braiding the wire like those in this post and this one versus braiding the wire like what is in this post? I'm guessing its litz braiding vs some other type of braiding... Does one braid carry signal better than the other?

    Cable Shielding

Its a hum that increases when I move my hand closer to the wires and diminishes when I pull my hand back. It hits its maximum loudness when I actually touch the wire too. But even with out my hand there the hum is present, although very faint.

Roll Call: Who's building, built, or thinking of building a beta22?

I was just looking at some of Thrice's Rockhopper b22 builds and got to wondering about what ever happened to him? Anyone know? Seemed like he made some really solid amps.
