NEW HiBy R4
What a thorough answer! Thank you, Joe, much appreciated. I have a 6-year-old DAP and considering the progress of DAPs since 2018 it’s ancient. I’ve been wanting a new one, one that works more like a small computer with all the benefits of that. I will buy the R4 today. I will mostly use it as...- Salted Peanut

NEW HiBy R4
Hi all, I have some questions on using the R4 as a digital transport: Is there a mode for this (e.g. On/Off)? Does the DAC and amp circuitry shut off in the R4, or how is the technicalities regarding this? Can I use the R4 as a 100% digital transport only, not being connected to the internet...- Salted Peanut

There is differences between the two. G111 is discrete and single ended, G108 is op-amp based and is fully balanced in/out. And also, something I like, is that the G111 is less smooth than what the Violectric's are known for.- Salted Peanut

I got it plenty loud, around 90 dB i guess... no distortion or anything sketchy. If you don't know, the same guys behind Violectric and Niimbus is also Lake People. I think you should check out Lake People G111 MKII. If I decide to buy the E3 I will go with that amp, and Mojo 2 as my DAC- Salted Peanut

Yes, the HPA V222 and it sounded amazing. The E3 was in total control and I could hear everything, I was surprisingly deep into the recordings.- Salted Peanut

Lake People G111 - Headphone Amp
Hi all in this thread. I can read that this thread is also about the G111 MKii as much as it is about the G111. I have a question about the MKii: I want this amp, also because my next headphone purchase most likely will be the Dan Clark E3, and WaveTheory was kind enough to respond to my...- Salted Peanut

Dan Clark Audio E3 Review: Interview, Measurements, Impressions
Thank you for your reply. It’s quite useful for me, so you know. An audio store close to me got the E3 in for about a month ago, and what I will do at my first audition (thinking at least two auditions before deciding to buy or not) is listening through my Mojo 2, then one of the stores high-end...- Salted Peanut

Chime in, anyone who can: I have thought about this combination, the Mojo 2 and Atom Amp 2 (also Mojo 2 and Topping L30 II). This is because of the varying opinions in this thread on getting the E3 into a territory where the E3’s full potential is available. There is a consensus that the Mojo 2...- Salted Peanut

Congrats Dan. Glad to hear that the E3 is a success for you and your company. Are you able to tell when the E3 gets European distribution, and arrives to a store or two in Copenhagen, Denmark?- Salted Peanut

Dan Clark Audio E3 Review: Interview, Measurements, Impressions
I really appreciate your contributions to this thread regarding the E3 driven by Mojo2. I think that the Mojo2 is a little miracle-machine and if I found a headphone that ticked all my boxes and the Mojo2 couldn’t drive it efficiently, I would be very sad. I don’t know if the E3 is that...- Salted Peanut

Dan Clark Audio E3 Review: Interview, Measurements, Impressions
I often get a bit confused with the different opinions regarding this. So I will ask the man himself, if you don’t mind. I normally listen between 65 and 85 db, never higher than 85 db, and I use a Chord Mojo 2. Will the Mojo 2 drive these efficiently/more than acceptable? Thanks (this headphone...- Salted Peanut

@jsmiller58 I can’t make a comparison because I haven’t listened to the Maxwell. But what I can, is tell you that the VZR still blows my mind and is still the only headphone I use for music listening. For me the treble isn’t harsh at all, in fact I have EQ’ed the mids and treble a bit up with...- Salted Peanut

I like this. What Joe is saying about the VZR’s in this comparison video about the imaging of the VZR supports what I have been emphasizing in what I have said in this thread. Man, I adore this headphone! Maybe you will like Joe’s, GadgetryTech, video as well: And @RPGWiZaRD maybe this can...- Salted Peanut
