iBasso DX170 You want your Music? It is right here. *** NEW Firmware: 1.06 Apple support and other additions! ***

What kind of file number or size limit are you talking about in your case? And what player app are you using that just crashes when a few more are added? The built-in Mango Player I find uses a very hungry database file, especially if you have large album art embedded. Perhaps this library file...

Depends on a couple of things. The screen is the biggest battery hog. Even when set to the lowest brightness, it is still brighter than other devices and takes a chunk out of the battery. I have set my screen to go dark automatically after 1min as well. The other power demon on the DX160 is the...

Sorry you are correct. This was the latest download for DX160. The 2023 update was for DX170.

Opinions vary widely based on the user. If by "big ui one" you are referring to the background of the status bar, I wouldn't suggest this is a bug, but instead an appearance you don't like that does not have an option to change. There is a difference. The last firmware update for DX160 was...

This is about the same for me. Never had my 2020 model DX160 die before I was ready to charge. And charge time remains under 2 hours from running it right down to under 10%. I usually get 4-5 hours of listening in, depending on how juicy I get with the volume and how often I bring the screen to...

I wouldn't hold my breath for this. Mango player has been used on many iBasso devices over many years and has yet to have the Composer tag added to the library database for browsing. And since the other description tags like Conductor, Orchestra, etc. are even less "standard" these are even...

Classical music and how it is browsed differently than modern popular music cataloging is a common complaint. The native Mango player handles Classical music in a basic way. But fortunately with the Android OS there are other free/paid player apps that may be more suitable for your use case...

Well I guess that just shows you can't please all the people all the time. The OS works just fine for the native Mango application, as well as most 3rd party players I have used. If you are expecting phone-like operation or want to use apps that are not related to playing music, this is not your...

Sorry, three years of update support for a device with a fixed purpose seems reasonable IMO. It's not like they cease to operate after that. But based on the design criteria for a hi-res music player that does exactly that, what additional updates need to be addressed? These aren't full blown...

The last update for DX160 was 2022-08-01, three years after the original release date. I think that is about the norm for most devices like this. While I suppose it may still be possible, I wouldn't get your hopes up. If you really need a music player with more precise control of the EQ than...

Really? I find iBasso is pretty responsive, especially here on the forum. Look for @Paul - iBasso to see how many times he has replied to others.

I have been using a 1TB SanDisk Ultra card, about 75% full with a mix of mostly ALAC, a few DSD, and a few older mp3 files. Currently I’m at about 25k and regardless of which player I use it takes about 12-15 minutes to scan. Except Mango - that takes well over an hour.

The biggest challenge I have with Neutron is the limit of using either Albumartist or Artist for the list, it can’t do both. And further it doesn’t separate artists. Otherwise it may have been the real champ.

GoneMAD uses the base Android audio engine right now, so while the UI and Smart playlist features are great the audio limited. Neutron on the other hand is extremely focused on audio and sounds the best to me on the DX160 but lacks on the UI side. Poweramp sits nicely between them with a very...

I find the Mango player takes a very long time to read through large libraries. Plus it creates a bunch of Artist thumbnails as well and these take up additional space on the small built-in drive. Try a different player, I alternate between Neutron, Poweramp, and GoneMAD on my DX160. They all...

It also depends on which output you are using. The 4.4mm balanced output drives more power and will reduce your battery life. Besides the native Mango player, have you tried any others like Neutron, Poweramp, UAPP? Some may have better background engine efficiency than others. But six hours with...

These were part of the additional benefits of having the Android-based OS. But it was also built around Android 8.1. There was no mention or promise of an upgrade path for the OS. I suspect this was limited by a combination of the processor used as well as the architecture mods to make the audio...

I am pretty darn sure these were marketed as players, hence the DAP moniker and the emphasis on playing hi res. The sound signature of iBasso is distinct. And the output levels put almost every other portable device to shame in order to support even the most demanding headphones. So I would...

I have no issues with my DX160 (2020) as a player, but I rarely use it for any kind of streaming services. It is primarily built and optimized for local file playback. Even my 2020 version is now over 3 years old, and this was a redesign to the original 2019 model due to screen shortages. So...

In my case, only local files are used. No streaming apps ever require internet access. So I leave my DX160 in airplane mode most of the time. If a Bluetooth connection is required, that can be activated while still leaving airplane mode engaged. Only when I check for any updates do I turn on...

There isn't a whole lot of extra space with the internal memory. The OS and a couple of apps on mine takes up a little over 24GB, out of a total of just 32MB on board. So your Windows machine does see the DX160? Earlier you said neither machine could see it. Does your Mac have more than one...

While connected to either machine, do you see the pull-down menu option to select the USB function? By default it is always just set to charging. Change that to file MTP or PTP and you should see the device pop up on the computer. Are you trying to access it to transfer music to or from the...
