I velcroed a boom mic onto my AD700 and had no problems.  The sound leaking is not nearly enough to pick up if your mic is set for the right level of gain to pick up your much louder voice.

Your TPA is kind of acting as a middle man, is there any way to go directly from your computer to the Buffalo II?  That could help I would think.   Likewise if not can you get Analog out from the TPA and skip sending the signal to the Buffalo.  It just seems sort of redundant to have 2 DAC's...

if your only looking to use low impedance i would think the e7 alone is more than enough.  i have ad700 and a700 and my udac is more than enough.  infact the amp portion is really doing very little its t5h dac part that is most important.

Ahh with lower grade parts I would not be interested.  Plus only $10 for a finished board is a deal compared to the $89.00 kit.  Most people that do DIY for you charge way more than $10 for the labor.

You can do a high quality AAC encode to reduce the size, its lossy but if you use high settings you shouldnt notice any quality loss and still cut the size in half.  Still getting a new rip is the best thing to do.
