I may be in the minority, but the one thing I was not excited about was the rubied color. To each their own, but I could care less if this is the color moving forward. I didn’t buy this for uniqueness. I was really happy to get the email as the finish in the video looks great.

This. This amp is really good for the money. I bought one a while back, and ended up doing what I always do... Blow more money on more expensive gear. At the end of the day, this has been the one amp that I have kept. It is just a nice sounding, competent amp.

I agree, to me they sound cleaner that the 6XX. The 6XX has always had that veil that people write about. I know there are amp pairings that improve the situation, but I never had that with the 660S. To me the 6XX do sound smoother, which counts for something. At the end of the day, neither...

I second this… I paired it with the Arya and it sounded great. I have no doubt this will outperform an iFi portable as long as you are ok with the nature of a R2R DAC.

I think you will find that it pairs really well. I was running the Edition XS through a THX 789 and a Modius DAC and it was too much for me. The EF400 toned it down just enough to make it very enjoyable listening experience.
