    Stanton headphone help

Why repair anything if you dont plan on using it? I like the looks of these giant cans and I'd rather have functional junk over nonfunctioning junk. When I repaired the sixty's I replaced the dynamic 2 way speaker setup with a 2 way car speaker. I compared the two drivers since only one side was...

    Stanton headphone help

I highly doubt I can buy drivers as these headphones are pushing 50 years old at this point (found a catalog online from ~'74 comparing them to other quad headphones) and I dont think stanton is owned by the same company anymore. What is thiele-small parameter? I don't think these...

    Stanton headphone help

Thats really disappointing, especially for the DIY section. They're from the early 70's, were overpriced and not many quad amps were sold either. Prolly a good reason why you havent seen them. What makes you say you need several watts to drive #3? If you did that, they would be at their limit...

    Stanton headphone help

I find that peculiarly strange with how large this website is, and how knowledgeable people seem to be here. At least I thought so anyways... Why is #3 a horrible option?

    Stanton headphone help

Hello-- I recently acquired a pair of Stanton Sixty-Five four channel headphones. For whatever reason, all 4 speakers are blown out in them... I am in search of replacement drivers, and have it narrowed down to three different ones. I am just looking for opinions on them, or possibly another...

    Yet another Stanton repair...

Hello-- I came back just to document my repair. Picked up a pair of Stanton Sixty-Five quad channel headphones off ebay. Came with the original box, though the headphones were advertised as not working. Thought it was the cable or the channel selector switch...nope. Not sure why Stantons have...

    Stanton Sixty Repair

Final update-- Got the speakers in the mail. The side with the blown driver was the first to get retro-fitted. I had to pry out the stanton tweeter to make room for the hertz speaker. After using a knife and making a cross hatch pattern in the plastic where the speaker sits, I used some...

    Stanton Sixty Repair

Just as an update-- I purchased these to use a replacement. Unfortunately I cannot find another 1-way paper 3.5" driver to use as a replacement. This one is slightly shorter than the original speaker, so theoretically after cutting the ears off and removing the protector lip, it should fit...

    Stanton Sixty Repair

Well, decided to carefully cut the cone out. Figured it's already bad, can't do much worse to it. Found that the coil is partially vaporized. Makes me curious what happened and how the other drivers are still good. The two strands for the + / - arent there. It's just an outline of them :/

    Stanton Sixty Repair

Hello! I recently picked up a minty pair of stanton sixty's with the original box and the tone controller. The seller claimed they worked, but I had no way of testing them when I picked them up. Cosmetically they look great (will get pics later) however, the left side needs some help. The...
