Hello--
I came back just to document my repair. Picked up a pair of Stanton Sixty-Five quad channel headphones off ebay. Came with the original box, though the headphones were advertised as not working. Thought it was the cable or the channel selector switch...nope.
Not sure why Stantons have a habit of melting the speaker coils. I know its a stereo issue, but still...
Took a measurement of the speaker--40mm. Looked around on mouser for 40mm mylar speakers, and found these. They are taller than the original, but I think I can cram them into the pocket. Frequency response is a lot better than most of the mylars on mouser as well.
Before I buy, thoughts on the replacement speakers?
