I have NHCs driven by a Zen Can with XBass and an EQ curve that gives them even more bass and hotter upper regions (1-6kHz). I do love my Nighthawks oh so very much but I'm thinking about upgrading, so my question to all out here - is the TH900 a valid step-up?

I wouldn't call the NHs very narrow. I'd call the HE1000SEs that. Nighthawks are considerably wider than those and they're also wider than HD600s (which I would also not consider "very narrow").

Hello everyone, after much research I've decide to grab a pair of the very last new Audioquest Nighthawk Carbons. I must say, these are exactly what I was looking for, I'm not even thinking about upgrading any time soon.

It seems the blue TH900 doesn't exist anymore (can't find them in stock anywhere and I don't really want to order from ebay), Thomann only has the red TH900 I have an amp - an iFi Zen Can - it is made of power.

I'm buying from Thomann.de and they're pretty much the top pick for pro audio purchases in Europe. They have a rock solid 30 day money back return policy, so I will have no issues return headphones if I'm extremely disappointed by them.

The only problem is they're thrice my budget :beyersmile: I guess I could hold out for two more months, I should have 1600 saved by that time, it seems all headphones are polarizing except maybe the HD600

I'm wary of Sundara because of the shape of their pads. I remember trying HE400s and I couldn't stand them for more than half a minute. Perhaps I will reconsider if the pads are different - I really liked Brainwavz HM5 pleather pads on my AD500X - would those work with the Sundara?
