free gifts of RE600, HM700 and RE400
Wow, great timing for this giveaway. Just convinced myself it would be financially acceptable to grow the IEM farm again and started by looking at RE600. Liked on Facebook (Catch Bell) and replied here.- dbng

I've gone from zero to off the deep end in less than a week.
I understand going all out and spending all the money at once because you're going to catch hell from the wife anyway. What I don't understand is the 3 pairs of PortaPros in your sig. That, and the lo-tech telephone next to your LCD. I didn't realize there were still non-cordless phones out...- dbng

Sigtone Shek H1 - Headpone Amp/USB DAC
Battery life = 150 hours? Interesting. On the other hand, I'm not wild about the pink/green plug and square knob aesthetic.- dbng

REVIEW: Sennheiser HD650/AKG K701/Beyerdynamic DT 990 '05
Great summary - really helpful. I'm also frustrated by the inherent lack of natural crossfeed in headphones vs. speakers which makes some albums downright annoying. I'm itching to try some amps with crossfeed although I'll start with the cheaper foobar2000 plugin and see how much that helps.- dbng

IEM imbalance
I started out with the comply tips on my UM2s and had problems getting a good seal. Also, besides the normal separation I noticed that the bass was primarily in my right ear. So I tried the yellow foamies and now I have more bass but it's still stronger in my right ear. I've ordered the large...- dbng

Separation in different headphones
I was listening to some old CCR today and the separation was driving me batty. I got thinking about it and I understand the chain of separation from studio to master to source to amp. What I don't understand is why certain headphones have differing degrees of separation. What are the...- dbng

Test tones
I've been comparing headphones using music I'm very familiar with but I'm having some trouble separating out the frequency ranges in some of the tracks. I'd like to try a slightly more "scientific" approach: A/B test using specific test tones. Can anyone recommend a site with test tones that I...
