Just got my Cube back from repair and they've done a firmware reset so I no longer have my Apps. Is there a proper version of the XAPK installer as I can't get the kann to recognise the one on APK Pure.

Should try them properly fed with a balanced connection. The slam is greater than any dynamic open-back headphone i've heard or owned.

Most "Chi-Fi" has local dealers in Australia which makes some of the stuff out of there, a no brainer.

Maybe your wiring was already out of phase and this corrected it.

@JasonNYC With the Kann Cube and the CD Ripper MK2, I see that there is an option to playback CDs instead of RIP. Is it possible to playback a CD and have the output sent over optical? Would make the MK2 have great value as I'll be able to sell off my cd player and save some space.

I think a company's goal should be to create a quality product, first and foremost. I don't believe in nickle and diming a good product just to release a cheaper mediocre one. There's plenty of chip dacs out there that cost pennies for you to choose from.

The cable I got sounds pretty damn good. I prefer ares II but it's very nice. I had my cable made up locally, I don't trust custom/weird cables from china

WM1Z has insanely low power output. Would want either something beefer or to stack it with something like IFI Xcan. Otherwise, i'd consider focal's lineup. Either radiance or clears.

Don't think that's fair to say. Once I got my balanced cable, A&K Kann Cube has been driving Aryas extremely well. Arya is definately portable in my setup. Do i get as much current as the Cayin IHA-6, no, but the kann gets me 90% there.

Haven't gotten my 2x3pin balanced cable yet but with stock quarter-inch, damn does this thing have deep punchy bass. None of my gears was able to supply the current and power this thing needs. I went from estat level bass to the punch that my focal clears provided back when I owned them...

Wouldn't say bright but hard to make any sort of judgement over Bluetooth. Sound is about on par to the radio in a car.

It wasn't really until I ran them balanced that i completely fell inlove. With enough current and clean output, these things really sounded onpar with the more expensive hekv2. I feel like alot of people based impressions off whimpy sources and underpowered them.

This hobby isn't about working "just fine". If it was we'd all be using bluetooth headsets and soundbars, which also work "just fine". The Ares II is entry level but it also isn't chump change and there's no reason to run it through a crappy switcher when better solutions exist.
