I don't know why Dekoni doesn't make pads for the "egg" shape Hifiman's, you'd think there's enough of a market for it.

Not really....all the egg shape hifiman headphones are all priced much higher compare to Dekinis normal offering.
And due to their unique shape, i think its gonna take them much more efforts to produce it.
while the audeze line and hd800 only has one of the factors against them. Plus they are both more popular then the hifimans.

I get what you're saying and the $79 for the Serenity pads from Hifiman isn't bad since they've improved their pad construction over the years.

I suspect hifiman has refused to sell the retention rings to dekoni in order for them to produce the pads in the first place.

They probably don't want them messing with the sound, considering they're not very good at it to begin with.

Dekoni is actually working on pads for headphones like these.

Heres something for everyone who wanted different pads for their Aryas to consider:

I just got HE1000v1's and the pads are itchy as hell. Might take the plunge.
Thanks for the find. I know what you mean. I'm in this thread looking for replacement pads suggestions for my new Arya which I just received today. Pads are so itchy. I'm so disappointed. I already own the Sundara which have very comfy and soft pads even though the material looks very similar. I was expecting the much more expensive Arya to have excellent feeling pads as well but, sadly, such is not the case.

Trust me, those pads are better than the HE1000v1 pads

Well damn, I was wondering if it would be worth trying the Ultrapad. I guess not.
I disliked the Serenity pads that came with the Arya v2. I remember that the Ultrapad on the Arya v1 was comfortable, so I used a new Ultrapad with my v2 (cutting out the dust cover from it since the v2 already had one installed on the baffle). I don't know whether if the Serenity pad foam is simply stiffer than that on the Ultrapad, or if it was just batch variance. I can just say that the Ultrapad worked out for me on my Arya v2's. However, the material used for the cloth covering part of the pad that contacts your face/side of the head is the same between the Serenity pads and the Ultrapads AFAIK. So, if the Serenity pad material is causing itchiness, the Ultrapad material is likely to do the same.
