I have the same skin reaction problem with the apple earpads. If I wear them for an hour or more, I get breakouts. That never happened with the leather pads on my B&O H9s. I’m surprised Apple don’t offer any alternative materials.

I tried that too but it made it worse if anything, lol. Hopefully Apple will come up with some more material choices one day. The standard material seems to trap dirt and sweat.

They were never £550 headphones, £350 at most but they’re still the most compelling choice for those in the Apple ecosystem. They have plenty of issues. Weight, condensation, stinky earpads, average battery life, stupid case, connectivity bugs and embarrassing to wear in public…..but I love ‘em!

I went ahead and bought the Fit Pro anyway as I had some Amazon vouchers to use up. Not as bad as I was expecting sound wise, but yeah, the ANC isn’t great - compared to APM at least. I might try some Comply type memory foam tips to get better physical isolation.

Agreed. Can’t see it happening though as a PEQ is too ‘tech’ for average Apple consumers. I honestly thought the APM were the shizz but been on holiday with my Technics IEMs and they blow the APM away for deep bass.

Apple, seriously, give us a system wide parametric EQ because right now, my Technics EAH-AZ0W iems are blowing you away for bottom end bass. Great sounding cans but honestly, it’s embarrassing midrange iems dig deeper. I know the max is capable of more, a lot more, so get with the prorgam already.

I don't like any of the presets. They're a bit too crude for me. The manual EQ in iTunes isn't brilliant either but I can at least trim/boost certain frequencies. What I'd really like is a parametric EQ but I can't see that happening :smile:

I agree the bass is impressive but my B&O H9v3s dig a little deeper. There's a particular sub rumble on Royksopp's 'The Drug' 38 seconds in which the APM can't quite match. But in all other areas the APM is far superior, especially in slam and volume. I wish Apple would just give us a system...
