    Final Fantasy VII Remake

Finished the Demo yesterday and it was great to see new versions of old locations, but that Scorpion Boss at the end kicked my ass. He felt too hard for the first boss.. took all my potions and pheonix downs... still better luck when the full games comes out.

    Post your computer specs!~

I think its just better to run a power supply higher then needed as it will last longer and since power draw fluctuates you don't wanna go too close to max as just plugging in a usb device will cause BSOD and potential shutdown failure. I think you're right though, most wont use that much...

Massdrop x THX AAA™ 789 Linear Amplifier - Impressions Thread

Yeah, that is correct. It depends on the headphones a lot.. I have Verum One's that are 8 Ohm headphones and Sennheiser HD650 that are 300 Ohm headphones, both i can use on all gain levels but the sound output will just be different for each. The 8 ohm will be louder on all gain levels compared...

Massdrop x THX AAA™ 789 Linear Amplifier - Impressions Thread

The Verum One is an 8 (Eight) Ohm Headphone. Works fine on my THX 789 but, as mentioned, its not advised to use such headphones.

Massdrop x THX AAA™ 789 Linear Amplifier - Impressions Thread

The way I think of Gain is its mostly just a multiplier of power for increasing the voltage sent to the Headphones, more power = more volume, but headphones act differently thus sound differently having been sent the extra power. A lack of power usually reduces the bass response, some headphones...

    DIY Cable Gallery!!

I'm sure you've done it the better way :) The alternative would only be to connect the 2 and 4 pins together in the XLR plug so that you can run one negative cable to the amp where you can split it again between the channel negative connections. This is just going on the assumption that it is a...

    Audeze Mobius review / impressions

The Surround signal is sent from the software driver when connected to a PC, thus you can only get Stereo from any other source such as TV or games console. You could connect the headphone via Bluetooth or headphones socket from the TV if you have these available.

    DIY Cable Gallery!!

I think that Legopart was pointing out that Speaker amps use a common negative terminal for both Left and Right channel so there is no reason to be wiring the cable as balanced. In other words, the negative connection eventually meet unless you are using mono-block amps where each channel would...

    1MORE H1707 Triple-Driver Over Ear

I bought the ES100 a few days back, Initial listening last night convinces me that i won't notice much, if any, difference between the balanced out of my Fiio M9 vs the balanced out of ES100 (with Bluetooth connection to the M9 (LDAC)). Both go far louder then I ever need them to be and Sound...

    Audeze Mobius review / impressions

All very good questions. It looks to me like its a Audeze rebrand rather then Hyper X taking the parts and making it themselves. All except the paint is the same and the software is basically identical too. It's not uncommon to happen, i'm just surprised it has. Audeze had a uniquely their's...

    Audeze Mobius review / impressions

Hyper X announced the Cloud Orbit S, which is the Mobius in less fancy clothes... This might be a good thing, but it seems strange timing in a way, but maybe the new firmware update will be out before / in time for this release...

DIY Cable Questions and Comments Thread

Have you tested with a multi-meter from the XLR end to the TRS end for continuity? check each pin from one end to the other. Also check that none of the connections are also connected to the other, so right isn't accidentally connecting to ground too. I can't see anything wrong with your...

I was going to say that same thing, but thought i might be cast out from the Audiophile club for not using like 9N Cryo Silver Plated Copper wire.. I use any cheap bit of solid core i can find for this too.

    DIY balanced cables

Separate Positive and Negative cables and connection points.. I think though that this kind of thread would be better in the Cables Section.. https://www.head-fi.org/forums/cables-power-tweaks-speakers-accessories-dbt-free-forum.21/

    oBravo Cupid

I use mine daily with my Fiio M9, High Gain around 60 Volume (out of 120) via 2.5mm Balanced cable. I have tried them with Silicone Tips and i wasn't a fan of the lack of bass so i wanted to stick to foam. I used the Comply foams that came with them for a few weeks but they crumbled away after a...

Massdrop x THX AAA™ 789 Linear Amplifier - Impressions Thread

This is just what I did a week or so back .. :) SKU no. MDX-19090-2, Prod No. BF19 and AW Rev.A 03/2018 Serial No. 024XX from the April drop. Says "D1" but thats about it. Not as much in there as i hoped.. but well built :)

Massdrop x THX AAA™ 789 Linear Amplifier - Impressions Thread

I was thinking that maybe they just started again with the numbers after SKU "MDX-19090-2" so then Model numbers would start again at BA01, for example, but mine is from the April Drop and its the same details (SKU no. MDX-19090-2, Prod No. BF19 and AW Rev.A 03/2018) as yours except has a lower...

The one in France is Brittany.. The difference between Britain and Great Britain is one starts with a "B" and the other a "G".. :) Technically though there is this.... "Here's where things get really confusing: Although commonly used as a colloquial shorthand for the UK, Britain is also a...

Schiit Asgard 3 - Impressions Thread

Not to add any fuel to this fire, but if you try and buy from the EU site, there is no option for United Kingdom, Britain or Great Britain in the Address list. Since the UK has its own site and UK Based Supplier (Electromod), I believe its not possible to purchase from the EU site for UK...

Certainly looking forward to this as a small, all in one DAC/AMP. Currently using seperates for my tv as I have some high ohm headphones i wanna cater for, but this seems to do it all in one box :)

I'm assuming that this is a 3.5mm to Digital Coax cable, as in you wish to connect it to the Yellow RCA looking connector on the Hugo 1. If so then i think that this is the pins that need to connect. Taken from the following item on Amazon Website...

Verum Audio - Exciting high performance DIY planar

Interesting that yours came with "Headphones" decared in the label, mine came with just "Head" and being the right sized box as an actual head, There was some dodgy looks from the Delivery Driver and my Dad when they arrived. Wasn't leaking blood so it passed customs without issue :)

    New Headphones advice

Yeah, that's why i thought best to put one of each there. I agree with the Meze 99 Classics (heard these) and One More Triple Over Ears (own these) as great closed headphones in this price range.

    New Headphones advice

I second the Meze 99 suggestion, at least if closed backs are preferred. If open or semi-open are acceptable, then I would suggest a look at HifiMan 4xx (or 400 series) and the Dekoni Blue's (Fostex T50's with better pads) both are great sounding headphones, the latter being darker sounding.
