On the now playing screen if you swipe from right to left (Don't tap) it'll show you all the songs in an album or playlist so you can scroll through an album and jump to a specific song if you like.- hpoulter

Shanling M5s now with TIDAL - Dual AK4493EQ DAC, fully balanced, Wi-Fi, 2way LDAC BT, 3.2 Touch screen, FW 3.7
I would really like it if I was able to play/sort music by genre. I am hopeful this feature can be added in future software versions. I noticed that when I look at the info for a specific song I can see; Album, Genre, File Size, Codec, Bits/Sample, etc.. So there shouldn't be any reason that I...- hpoulter

Shanling M5s now with TIDAL - Dual AK4493EQ DAC, fully balanced, Wi-Fi, 2way LDAC BT, 3.2 Touch screen, FW 3.7
I used to buy Cowon players when I lived in Japan (2004-2009). They've made so many garbage products since that time I have a hard time believing they've improved the quality of their products, customer service, software, screen quality, etc... Whenever I read a review praising their products I...- hpoulter

Agree on the click bait. I have owned both the M9 and the M5s and the M5s sounds way better. So much so that I sold the M9. I also didn't like the screen, shape of the body nor having the buttons on the left hand side of the M9. It just felt weird in the hand and I was constantly hitting a...- hpoulter

I returned the M6 and sold the M9 on ebay. I couldn't believe how much better (to me) the M5s sounded. I also asked my wife and random people at work which they thought sounded better and everyone hands down picked the M5s.- hpoulter

The screen displays blacks accurately (which is usually the measure of a good screen) has good viewing angles and represents other colors accurately. I can't really complain about it. And again it is far better than the Fiio M6 and Fiio M9 screen. Blacks on both those devices were more of a...- hpoulter

I'm sorry but I think your comments of the screen quality is a gross mischaracterization of the screen quality. Is it jaw dropping great, no but it is of far better quality than a lot of DAP's I have purchased this year (Fiio M6, Fiio M9) and dozens of other players I have owned over the years- hpoulter

Yes I am referring to the clicking noise when it boots and when it shuts down. The only audio issue I had was the volume issue in the 2.1 software. I downgraded to 2.0 and am now at 2.2.- hpoulter

I don't have any issues with FLAC files. What version of software are you running? I asked Shanling about the clicking noise as it sounded like a relay to me and I thought the same thing and they told me the clicking noise is a protective relay for the analog circuits.- hpoulter

Now I see it, it's at the bottom of the list. Thanks! I had been creating artist playlists to be able to do that before and it was a pain. The one feature that I am missing from my iPhone/ipod music application the most is the ability to while listening to music on shuffle is to be able to click...- hpoulter

Shanling M0 vs Fiio M9 Audio quality
All, I am new to this forum and new to this community. I bought a Sony NW-A45 in Japan last March after visiting with friends for two weeks (I was stationed in Japan from 2004-2009) and still have many friends there. This purchase started me on the path to wanting higher fidelity audio. Fast...- hpoulter
