    Sony NW-ZX300

A good speaker system is a treat. Whether you can use it to full capability is always a question. Going from a house to an apartment changes things. No more late night vinyl sessions. No more volume independent of consequence. The Dali Katch doesn’t provide the full bass range. I think it cuts...

Nice. Still looking for a better iem. I’ve primarily been using my zx300 at work via aptX Bluetooth to a Dali Katch speaker. Phenomenal. Loud enough to cover the sound of moving conveyors, detailed enough to be enjoyable at close range at near ear bleeding decibels. Kind of a spendy combo, but...

@Redcarmoose gave some excellent suggestions for problem solving. Somewhere in the last month or so, I read of a similar problem. Deoxit Gold on contacts fixed it. Might be worth a try if Redcarmoose’s suggestions don’t identify the source of the problem.

    Just Chillin-Baby it’s Cold Outside

-50. Morning coffee is going to suck. I usually spend 30-45 minutes outside each morning, drinking good coffee, smoking cigarettes, surfing. -25 this morning wasn’t to bad. iPad hasn’t complained. I can stay warm, and/ or operate a device. Might have to take a book.

For me, it seems to depend on the recording. Most, but not all high quality recordings sound better to me on direct sound. I like hitting the effects for average recordings, and some things that were basically recorded for radio, i.e. limited frequency range. The extra body helps, and the...

    Sony NW-ZX300

I didn’t bookmark it, but there is a link to a retailer somewhere back in the 500+ pages of this thread. Music Sanctuary in Singapore does battery replacement and upgrades on the Sony 1A/1Z, so I would assume they could do the zx300 also.

    Age-Old Quest - help needed!

Chasing the Dragon........ I’m in a somewhat similar position. I had “that” system 20 years ago. Floor standing speakers, tubes, exotic amp and turntable. At some point, I bought an iPod, and a set of universal Ultimate Ears iems. I think the earphones were around 450.00 or so, maybe 250.00 for...

Leave the phones attached. You need the electrical resistance they provide for the process to be effective.

High gain, around 80. I burned in the new 4.4 cable at the same time. I wouldn’t worry to much about the batteries lifespan. Set the battery saver feature. It only allows the battery to charge to 90%, even plugged in. I figure lifespan is 5-10 years, and chances are technology or my tastes...

Sony recommendation is 200 hours burn in for each output. General consensus is that the 4.4 balanced is the only way to go on the zx300. Mine was purchased used with around 50 hours on the balanced side. At that point, a few songs sounded good, a few just ok, and some like absolute crap...
