Ive been watching a few YT dac review videos and they all seem to make a point of showing what’s under the hood. And - they all claim to hear audible differences when comparing between other dacs!

So my iPad dac must be tiny (just a chip?) compared to these blu-ray sized dedicated desk size dacs. Why are these desk size dacs so big/what are they doing differently from my tiny iPad dac if the end result is audibly the same?

Currently using the dac in my iPad - do I need a better dac?

Not sure if this corresponds to your post but one reviewer said that the Chord Dave dac seemed to be able to extract below overt sounds from live recordings ie the atmosphere of the environment the recording was made in, that gave the reviewer a physical response to high quality live recordings...

Apparently the mains cable in question is available for demonstration by request at the dealership. I’d imagine the demonstration would be rather dull.
