ThieAudio Monarch MKII Experience
I’m in the same spot, the stock cable is not very comfortable. If someone finds something that’s well priced, and easier to use, please post- PaulMiami

ThieAudio Monarch MKII Experience
So far what works best for me are the AZLA XELASTIC as they sound closest to the stock tips, but for my ears are much more comfortable. The AZLA Sedna EarFit Crystal are also very good, but they have a wider bore than the stock tips, that in my case made the Monarch MkII more V shaped in its...- PaulMiami

I tried the Sedna Earfit Crystal. They are very comfortable but they sound a tad bright. Waiting on Amazon to deliver the others- PaulMiami

ThieAudio Monarch MKII Experience
The stock M silicone tips sound best for me but they are uncomfortable after a while. The bass was a bit light with the w1. Any other suggestion?- PaulMiami

Topping G5
I’ve been using my Topping G5 now for a week. This is truly a magnificent product, looks like it was made by Nagra, but the $299 this costs would not even cover the sales tax if it was made by Nagra. I’m mostly a two speaker stereo listener, and I’ve owned many of the top end DAC from...- PaulMiami

Focal Utopia General Discussion
I've been listening to the Utopia with the new Topping G5. Wow, this is a great DAC Amp combo. Incredible level of detail, not harsh at all to my ears. Resolution is spectacular. And it's $299.- PaulMiami

IEMs or CIEMs that would rival Focal Utopia
I currently have JH Audio Angie CIEMs. They sound great but they have never been totally comfortable and they are not at the level of the Utopia. What do you recommend in the 2000 +\- price range? How about the newer JH Sharona or Sheena? Noble Kahn?- PaulMiami

IEMs or CIEMs that would rival Focal Utopia
My Focal Utopia sound great, but I find myself mostly listening to JH Audio CIEM Angies because of the size, privacy and sound isolation they offer. However, the Angie's never quite fit right and after 30 minutes or so, my ears do get a bit sore. What do you all recommend? Priorities are...- PaulMiami

JH Audio Angie Impressions and Discussion Thread
I mostly listen to music on my 2 channel speaker set up, TAD R1s in an active biamp with Pass XVR1 crossover set up with the help of Andrew Jones, and I don’t have experience with headphone, other than the CIEM Angie and Focal Utopia. That said, I’m very impressed with how these 5 year old...- PaulMiami

JH Audio Angie Impressions and Discussion Thread
My only experience is my recent one with JH Audio, that said, 250 is what they charged for a similar reshell. 150 was for a driver on the other side. Guess they somehow took it apart- PaulMiami

250 for the reshell, 125 for the driver, they left them as 4 pin cable, very reasonable cost- PaulMiami

JH Audio Angie Impressions and Discussion Thread
Just recently got back from JH Audio my CIEM Angie’s that had a cracked shell that broke back in 2019. Hadn’t used them since then. When JH Audio tested both headphones they found one of the drivers on the side that was not cracked was not working, so that was also repaired. They were able to...- PaulMiami

Arche is discontinue, its USB connection is quirky, that said, the Utopia with a stock cable on an Arche with Roon and a good/quiet USB source sounds amazingly good- PaulMiami

I’ve had similar result with the Utopia/Arche with a stock 1/4” plug Focal cable, and a Sonore microRendu with their LPS. Very synergistic combination.- PaulMiami

Also my bad ... I didn’t realize you were comparing the Berkeley to the DCS. I haven’t heard the DCS. Been using Berkeley products since their first DAC about 12 years ago. The Arche is in my bedroom with Utopia phones. The Berkeley is in a media room with TAD R1s and Constellation Centaur...- PaulMiami

https://www.theabsolutesound.com/articles/berkeley-audio-design-alpha-dac-reference-series-3-digital-to-analog-converter/ The Berkeley is roughly 20,000 and another 2,000 or so for their USB adapter- PaulMiami

The Berkeley is a better DAC, but it’s 10x the price, plus an additional device if you want USB. So it should be better. There is an added silence between notes on the Berkeley, you hear more detail, but with no harshness at all.- PaulMiami
