HiBy R6 III (Gen 3) Android digital audio player, Dual ES9038Q2M, Class A / AB amplification switch, Snapdragon 665, Open Android 12 OS, DSD512 / PCM768
Oh snap, my player decided to update the firmware again today, this time to 1.31. I had thought it would have been the latest when it updated the other day, but I guess not! Anyway, the problem disappeared! Thanks & sorry for the noise. <3- thread

HiBy R6 III (Gen 3) Android digital audio player, Dual ES9038Q2M, Class A / AB amplification switch, Snapdragon 665, Open Android 12 OS, DSD512 / PCM768
Hello! New R6 III owner here! I'm trying to use the media buttons in PowerAmp. If I press pause and then again to play, it appears to continue playing but the seconds count in about half-second intervals. Whether in working or wonky mode, the next track button goes to the next track and also...- thread

CHORD ELECTRONICS DAVE
@F208Frank: For me, Dave was the bigger upgrade. Even though I came from Hugo 2, Dave added more conviction and detail. M Scaler seems to add a bit more air and smoothness somehow, but to me I think it was a smaller change. @musickid: Off the bat, I really like how the Z1R is so comfortable...- thread

CHORD ELECTRONICS DAVE
In other news, I've had Dave + M Scaler for about a year now, mostly sourcing from an Allo USBridge. It's a USB reclocker hat for their Sparky computer -- which is a lot like a Raspberry Pi. So it runs linux with the Roon Bridge software. I use Focal Stellia the most, I think, but Utopia, QDC...- thread

CHORD ELECTRONICS DAVE
Some while back on this thread, a few members spoke highly of Dave of ZenWave Audio and his custom-made cables. Well, I reached out to him for a pair as well. I've been very happy with it after a year and change of really enjoying this cable directly connecting my Dave to a pair of lovely and...- thread

CHORD ELECTRONICS DAVE
Thank you, @rgs9200m & @xxx1313 for these thoughts. It has been the recommendation for the thick gauge, "high current" power cables that has me considering the Pangea AC 9SE MKII (7 AWG) over the Pangea AC 14 XL MKII (14 AWG). Is this sound logic, or is most of the superiority of a cable like...- thread

CHORD ELECTRONICS DAVE
Hello, DAVErs! I'm considering a power cable upgrade. I hear good things about thicker-gauged power cables (7-9 AWG) with the DAVE, but many people report great results with the Shunyata Venom 3 (10 AWG). Still others are perfectly happy with the 14-gauge Pangea AC 14SE -- and I would imagine...- thread

Audeze LCD i4 TOTL In-Ear Monitor Discussion
I was also considering the Lavricables option. I would love to hear impressions of it or any comparable cable. Not to be a downer, but I think that Comp4 might be a little heavy for me.- thread

Chord Electronics - Hugo 2 - The Official Thread
Ok, I'm very happy with this. Next move is to attach my inbound, cheap, old-school NES knockoff USB controller which will serve as the next, previous, play-toggle buttons, and maybe other things. I think I've already worked out the javascript required to interact with Roon. But the point is...- thread

Audeze LCD i4 TOTL In-Ear Monitor Discussion
Are the Hugo2 and LCD-i4 secure in that Pelican 1060? I'm thinking that there would still be some space above them for things to jostle loose and clink against the top of the case. It seems like you would need another layer of foam on top to really secure things. (And you would lose the ability...- thread

Chord Electronics - Hugo 2 - The Official Thread
I read some comments at least from @MacedonianHero about how well the AKG K812 (open headphone) pairs with the Hugo 2, so I'm imagining the K872 (closed headphone) will also be a great pairing... I'm interested in a great set of closed cans to plug directly into the Hugo 2 -- an all-arounder. I...- thread

Chord Electronics - Hugo 2 - The Official Thread
So I thought I'd share my little project, still in progress. I've only assembled it. I'm still waiting for delivery of a Raspberry Pi 3 board. It has the ARMv8 CPU which is supported by Roon Bridge. (My Pi is gen 1, with a CPU that is unsupported by Roon Bridge.) We'll be using the DietPi distro...- thread

Chord Electronics - Hugo 2 - The Official Thread
Got this today. It's a touch small in one dimension for the Hugo, but otherwise it is perfect. I do have a Peak Design Field Pouch as an earlier poster enjoyed with his Hugo 2, but it's a little big and doesn't quite fit the part, I feel. As for the leather ones, I think I'd rather let the...- thread

New JH Audio flagship! "Siren Series Roxanne"
Who will reterminate a stock Roxanne cable with the RSA/ALO portable balanced connector? I need a balanced cable, but I don't really want to invest a ton of money in a fancy-pants one. I think I can get the vast majority of the sound improvement simply by going balanced with my RSA Intruder...- thread

Sennheiser HD 6,7 & 8 DJ thread. Opinions, reviews, feedback, pics, discussions, etc.
It's about half the 3m length. To answer another recent question, I found the isolation of the HD8 DJ to be extremely good. It blocks outside sound surprisingly well.- thread

Sennheiser HD 6,7 & 8 DJ thread. Opinions, reviews, feedback, pics, discussions, etc.
While the HD8 DJ isn't going to win the awards in the audiophile crowd when stacked up against audiophile-geared headphones in a given area (HD800 is another area), it sounds quite respectable in general and even very good when judged next to other DJ headphones. IMO, YMMV, etc. I'm not sure...- thread
