Sigh... HD555 lasted all of 10 minutes at work
Definitely second the M50 and 1001. Both are great "work" cans. If you can swing it, grab the Denon 2000 instead.- Big Werm

Am I a heretic or are a bunch of you liars?:)
OK, just tried this for myself. I admit, it doesn't sound half bad. But the bass is definitely not there. It's very dull and lifeless. Dude, keep on listening this way if you want, but I think I'll be plugging my 701's back into my amp now.- Big Werm

Radiohead: Vinyl vs CD Comparisons ??
Funny, I was just thinking about starting a thread about how great a recording "In Rainbows" really is. To be honest it's my first Radiohead CD. I just bought the CD a couple weeks ago and I can't stop listening to it on my rig. Amazing detail and imaging, probably one of the best recorded... -

looking for new gaming headphones.
No, no, no.....get yourself a pair of Audio-Technica M50's. They kick some serious ass. They are like a 280 with way better bass and even more sparkle on the highs. Very Grado like. You should be able to find a pair for right around $150.- Big Werm

Millet Hybrid - only one channel working
I was looking at the pics and I totally agree that I don't like that grounding connection. Get yourself that meter because you will want to ohm out (probe) those connections. Just ask if you have no idea what this means. A few of those solder joints look VERY suspect to me. They look cold or...- Big Werm

Cheap and good...really ?
C'mon guys, give the dude a break! KSC 75, best 20 bucks you ever spent! Go buy it now. Otherwise, I'll probably be burned at the stake for this one but, for around $30 the Skullcandy Titan is pretty damn good.- Big Werm

Help re HR Balanced Amp - Tyll r u there!
Umm, this doesn't make any sense at all. So your balanced headphones worked just fine with your Balanced Desktop? Then the headphones are wired correctly end of story. Both amps balanced outputs are wired exactly the same. Also, I'm not sure why you are throwing me under the bus, but just to...- Big Werm

Best Headphones album/song
Less we forget, MUSIC is the best part of this hobby. The Beatles- Yesterday Guitars on the far right, vocals in the middle, then the strings come in on the left. This is a killer test track, highly recommended. Massive Attack- Angel Great bass test track. Plus lots of sounds going...- Big Werm

Need help regarding replacement nozzles for my e4
Yes, they will fit! I had to replace the filters on my pair of E4C's and the longer nozzles actually work better.- Big Werm

PXC 450 From a Student's Perspective!
Hell no! I really didn't like the PXC 450. The fit is crap and the sound is ehh. I do like the Denon NC732. Good fit and better noise canceling affect. But I also agree w/ P4Z, get some IEM's for true isolation and forget this noise canceling crap!- Big Werm

Ideal headphones for computer music making?
What you should do is get yourself a good (but cheap) USB DAC/amp and a decent pair of sealed cans. Forget the sound card! There are a quite a few amps available around $100-150, just search around. Then some decent cans with good bass in that price range would be the Audio-Technica M50...- Big Werm

Total Bithead Problems
Hmm, sounds like that volume pot is screwed. I would suggest emailing HeadRoom about this. Hopefully the amp is still covered by warranty. Either way I'm sure they can help.- Big Werm

Get micro amp for small desktop speakers
Well to play headphones and your speakers at the same time, use the pre-amp output on the back of your Micro amp. This will control BOTH your headphones and speakers at the same time. If you go for 2 Micro's, then all you need is a Grado 'Y' adapter and some ingenuity, then you can send 2...- Big Werm

I love hip-hop and I love hearing my 2 Alpines bump in my SUV
Ya if you can swing it, definitely get the Denon 2000. Otherwise, something more in your price range would be the AKG K 81 DJ or 818 DJ. They have mad bass and I know EXACTLY what sound you are looking for fellow basshead. Another option I can think of would be the Audio-Technica M50. Or maybe...- Big Werm

my new HD650 sounded awful... but not anymore! (updated title)
I know you said no mods.....but have you tried removing those thick foam pads that cover the drivers? I can't stand ANY Senn's with those pads in place. You might as well put a pillow over your speaker! Try removing those pads, it's so simple to do and if you don't like it, they are easy to...- Big Werm

Another gaming headphone question =)
Sorry about the MMX 300, I just can't help let people know about this baby. cobija, get yourself the Audio-Technica ATH-M50. It really should match all the qualities your looking for, including price. Otherwise, the Denon 1001 would probably be my very next choice.- Big Werm

Hi-Fi way to connect to gaming consoles?
All you need is the optical out of your 360 or PS3 into a DAC, then into a headphone amp. Oh, and be sure to change your audio settings to stereo instead of 5.1, otherwise the DAC won't recognize it properly. I've been using this exact setup with my PS3 for months now with tremendous results.- Big Werm
