Portable DAC/Amp under $200-$300 with Line Out for external Amp?
First time I've heard of this DAC/Amp as the market is saturated by Fiios and iFis of the world. But based on the reviews, it is indeed an unbelievable value! Will look into this further but it's looking like my next Dac/Amp!- dlegendkiller

Portable DAC/Amp similar/on par to iFi Nano iDSD Black Label?
Hello! So my iFi nano died today. Detected in Windows 10 but no sound coming out. Not detected in MacOS, or rather, if I fiddle with the USB cable, sometimes it shows up then it's gone in a second. I'm disappointed that this is the second iFi product that died on me, and it's rarely used at...- dlegendkiller

Bookshelf Speakers Recommendations
Hello all. Thank you so much for your response. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to read these before I went shopping because I had to leave the country the next day. In any case, I went on to an audio shop in Singapore called The Adelphi, which is a place for all Audiophile-related stuff from...- dlegendkiller

HD800S-like headphone?
I will keep this in mind. So far I haven't tested the Focal Clear, Verite, Stellia, and HD820. Hopefully I will be fine satisfied with HD800S so that my wallet won't scream that much. :D- dlegendkiller

HD800S-like headphone?
Hi! Have tried only the Auteur and the Aeolus so far. I like the Auteur but I am not too eager about it. I'd prefer it over my Amiron, sure but for me, it doesn't feel right to be my second pair. There is this feeling that there could be something else within that price bracket that makes me...- dlegendkiller

HD800S-like headphone?
Thanks for the suggestion. So far, below is what I can possibly loan: HD820 HEDD HD800S (for comparison) And my local store recommended the following too - what do you think?: ZMF Verite Focal Stellia I wish I could loan all them together but I don't think that's possible. I'll loan in...- dlegendkiller

HD800S-like headphone?
It's been staring at my face all along. Based on the reviews, HD820 has identical characteristics except for the obvious one like the soundstage. I have yet to try this though. I'll try to loan this HD820 together with the HD800S and see which one I like best! Right? I messaged them right away...- dlegendkiller

HD800S-like headphone?
Oof. Coming from an amiron which roughly weighs at 300+g, this is quite heavy! Now I really am curious about the Arya, just inquired the only local store offering it here in Singapore and unfortunately, they don't have loaner sets for it. Looked at their returns policy and there's too much fees...- dlegendkiller

HD800S-like headphone?
Indeed. I was lucky enough to loan this together with the HD800S. Although based on my impressions, the instrument separation and soundstage sounded unnatural to me but I could be wrong XD EDIT. Our local store is selling the HD800S for 1399 USD at todays exchange rate. I think it's a steal and...- dlegendkiller

HD800S-like headphone?
Great idea. Thanks! Added it in my first post. Good thing Heddphone is available in our local store. Will check this out! I haven't tried much headphones in my experience but I was really hoping for these characteristics :( Sadly, the local store I'm loaning demo for doesn't offer Hifimans...- dlegendkiller

HD800S-like headphone?
Hi! Apologies for the vague title. But I just wanted to ask, what headphone has the clarity, detail, imaging, and soundstage of the HD800S but doesn't compromise on bass and impactfulness? To be completely fair, HD800S is a great headphone. I used BD Amiron for comparison and I really like...- dlegendkiller

Empire Ears - Discussion & Impressions (Formerly EarWerkz)
Possibly yes, this only happens on the right ear. The left side has a little gap that it doesn't land on my skin, so it's a little bit more comfortable. One observation as a new CIEM user is that it's harder to insert and make them fit during the morning, when I'm off to work. I'm thinking the...- dlegendkiller

Empire Ears - Discussion & Impressions (Formerly EarWerkz)
I was advised to return today in case i still feel discomfort or a little pain. Although the person who did the impression said redoing the impression might confuse EE so it's better to reuse the old impression and make little adjustments. Is it normal to cause a little discomfort after about 60...- dlegendkiller

Empire Ears - Discussion & Impressions (Formerly EarWerkz)
Thanks for your response. I've just tried it again today to get that 45 degree angle and this is the farthest it can go. My impressions were done by a shop here in Singapore called Zeppelin & Co. They are nice people and they've been very patient with me through my journey. I visited their...- dlegendkiller

Empire Ears - Discussion & Impressions (Formerly EarWerkz)
Hello everyone. I hope this message finds you well. I ordered Valkyrie and just got it, maybe 2 weeks ago. It's my first custom IEM, coming from Andromeda. My impressions were, it isn't that comfortable. It's a little painful to wear it and I can only tolerate maybe 30-60 minutes before it...- dlegendkiller

Empire Ears - Discussion & Impressions (Formerly EarWerkz)
Sounds fair. What I liked about the Valkyrie is that the base and rumble is just the right amount for me. Son? I can only imagine the agony of waiting for the package to arrive! Haven't tried any CIEM yet so this could probably my first. Keep the Andro for universal fit then Valkyry for...- dlegendkiller

Empire Ears - Discussion & Impressions (Formerly EarWerkz)
Hello everyone. I just listened to Legend X, Valkyrie, and Wraith yesterday. I found Valkyrie as my preference among the three but I'm hesitant to pull the trigger since I already own CA Andromeda. I really like my Andros, and I know they're both different but I'm trying to justify why I should...- dlegendkiller

I thought it was only me. Using Andromeda as well, the hiss is noticeable even on low gain. Has anyone tried iEMatch to solve this issue? Though I'm not taking anything away from the AMP9, it's a whole other world of greatness compared to AMP1 MK2.- dlegendkiller
