I use both! If i'm listening to Qubuz, then it's on the network. I have to admit, the differences between my hi-res files via usb and network haven't been apparent to me yet but may be i need to do more listening

so finally got everything up and running and it's been about 4 weeks of listening at this time. My rig is Roon Nucleus-->DCS Bartok--->Viva Egoista--->Headphones Have to say, the sound is sublime. Really like the combination of Viva with the DCS, brings more low end grunt and a bit of warmth...

it's not so much as a step up, it's more a matter of taste....the point was in that price range, there's quite a few options

I have heard the Bartok paired with the HPA-4. You definitely get more low end grunt. Interestingly this was evident not only for the Abyss 1266 which is hard to drive but also in the case of my Focals Where this gets tricky is for the price of a Benchmark HPA-4 you can get a barely used Luxman...

Does anyone have any experience with the dcs bartok in black? does it scratch easily? I’m looking to get one and the black is available in 2 weeks and the silver in 8 weeks. I’m inclined towards the silver because i feel it will age better.
