Budget/Entry Level Dual mode wireless/wired Headphones.
Hi All, I have been asked by family members to research the following requirement. It is for a pre-teen member of the family who wants to be able to use with his switch, MP3 and phone. The description I have been given is: "A pair of over-the-ear earphone that can be wireless or plugged into a...- GreelyI

Rockbox Xduoo X3
Level, I can't see if you are replying to me or to another poster. In case it is a query about MusicBee; the MusicBee forum has this thread about running MusicBee in an emulator on OSX. As the program does not seem to see the xDuoo X3 in either rockbox or native mode on Windows 10 I'm...- GreelyI

Rockbox Xduoo X3
<edit> This was in reply to Yacobx's post "Is there a way to rockbox through OSX?" <end edit> If you can format the micro sd card correctly and copy the rockbox files to it; you have a "rockboxed" (is that the term) DAP. I spent ages trying to get a virtual Windows 7 client to allow me...- GreelyI

Rockbox Xduoo X3
The pitch and timing thing with the barebones/stock firmware was driving me nuts. I have musician friends telling me that I *can't* possibly hear the difference - yet I do! Having songs in higher quality that were just not as good as the lossy MP3s on the same device? No thanks, I'd use an...- GreelyI

Thank you Riolist2 for confirming my suspicion. Now I can focus in upon usability features of the Rockbox. I am SO very impressed with getting high quality back into portable music, Kind regards, Ian- GreelyI

Rockbox Xduoo X3
OK. So I am drawing a zero on getting a Windows 7 HyperV client to allow me to run the Flash_Rockbox.bat against my xDuoo X3 and am now wondering: What will flashing the player give me that I do not already have with the device running the updated Rockbox version from the SD card? Are...- GreelyI

Rockbox Xduoo X3
Thanks toddy0191 that is excellent news. :) I just confirmed this by deleting the update and playing the file that I used to confirm that I could hear the slow play of FLAC by the standard bios. Having seen that, the thought occurred that the .rockbox structure is likely updated by...- GreelyI

Rockbox Xduoo X3
There can be other files and/or folders in the root of the SD card too. i.e. In an update scenario there will be the update.zip file and the .rockbox folder. What I have not figured out yet is if I need to leave the update file in the root of the device AFTER the update has applied. Kind...- GreelyI

Introduction to Head-Fi; and some questions\advice to\from the resident experts on the xDuoo X3 DAP.
Thanks for your reply PurpleAngel. I am trying to get on the RockBox express but am hitting a classic gotcha. Do you know of a guide to allow a windows 7 Guest on a Windows 10 hosted Hyper-V to attach to the xDuoo X3 via USB. Presumably it can be done as people mention that it is...- GreelyI

Introduction to Head-Fi; and some questions\advice to\from the resident experts on the xDuoo X3 DAP.
My name is Ian Greely. I have been using progressively more expensive and "lossy" walkmans for near 40 years now. Starting with an Alba "Personal Tape Player" in the early 80s; through Akai, Sony, JVC. Then a brief flirtation with the insane idea of a portable CD Player... I've had a cheap...- GreelyI
