Gleam Audio / NiceHCK DZ9 (1 + 8) Discussion Thread
I'd say save up for the DZ9, ONLY because that's what I have been using for a year +. And GOD DAMN they surprise me every time I use them. They sound unreal. The instrument separation, and wonderful mids and balanced highs/lows. Voices sound absurdly nice.- jescereal

SpinFit Eartips Thread - The cheapest audio upgrade
Any drawbacks to using a small tip on the one side and a extra small tip on the other? Will sound/isolation be impacted? My ear canals seem to be different sizes.- jescereal

I agree. The only thing I'd complain about is the tiny skip it does between songs. Gapless playback isn't too great.- jescereal

Gleam Audio / NiceHCK DZ9 (1 + 8) Discussion Thread
Just a small psa for anyone that orders these through HCK: my DZ9's sounded awful when they first arrived. Congested and terrible. BUT!! It wasn't the iem's fault. It was the supplied CABLE. Immediately after changing the cable to another one I had...WOW, the real sound came through. So I...- jescereal

Chinese / Asian Brand IEM Info Thread
So glad to have joined! I'd happily pay $1000+ for these iems. The sound is that good. They're pretty much my ideal design. So glad I splurged on them. Usually the glittery "stars" design has a smoked black body, but I asked the seller if they could make it completely clear instead...- jescereal

Wait nevermind! The cable it came with is big time faulty. Used a different cable and the issue is gone.- jescereal

Mine arrived today and OOTB they're fuzzing quite a bit. Just opened them. Does that go away with burning, or do you think I got a lemon?- jescereal

Ultimate Ears UE 900 Discussion and Impressions Thread
To give perspective, that's pretty much how the UE900s sound signature is, period. No source fixed that for me (X5ii, Macbook Pro, X3ii, iPod Classic, iPhone 6s, iBasso DX80). All sources were the same since that sound is just a characteristic of the UE900s you can't change without EQ.- jescereal

I ordered both on amazon and they sounded exactly the same. Did a blind test and couldn't point to any differences using a UE900s. Returned the X5 kept the X3.- jescereal

Earbuds Round-Up
I agree! The PT15 is phenomenal! I also absolutely do not agree with the highs being too much. I think they're a bit rolled off. The high mids though are sharp without foams, but the donut foam covers eliminate them. Coming from a UE900s, the bass from the PT15 is more than sufficient. I can...- jescereal

For what it's worth, I've never had an issue with HCK. Not saying they haven't screwed anyone over, just that I've never had an issue. If anything, Jim's gone above and beyond whenever I've asked him questions. Lot's of patience.- jescereal

Earbuds Round-Up
To those with PT15's, does the sub-bass audio from the "Quality" section from this site http://www.audiocheck.net/soundtests_headphones.php make the earbuds make a slight rattling noise in the lowest subbass? Mine do, but I have not heard it in real use so I'm not worried.- jescereal

That's super unfortunate. Out of all the sellers, NiceHCK seemed like he mastered the english language the best. I always message through Aliexpress's message system since the chain of messages is literally a scroll away. You can't start a dispute and let Aliexpress foot in the bill? $36 is...- jescereal
