    Upgrading from UE TripleFi 10

Yeah, there's not going to be the same QC on the DM6. But you can always return. The shipping takes time, but that goes with the price. Pay less, wait a little longer. My pair of DM6 are super flat and balanced as in they play what the recording has, no piercing highs like the KZ SZ6 I got a...

    Upgrading from UE TripleFi 10

DM6 will kill the UM pro50. I stopped using my Heir Audio 10.0, so imagine. With the money left over from your DM6 purchase you can get an entry level DAP and some decent balanced cables. There, all you need this Christmas. Oh, and they will trounce the TF10. Mine TF10s will just sit in my...

    Upgrading from UE TripleFi 10

@ixeo The DM6 is in every way superior to the TF10. The bass is fuller and has more weight. The highs are more detailed and get this, there is something that you'll notice, those will be mids. Soundstage is not any larger, but the sound is fuller and envelopes you. The layering of instruments is...

    Upgrading from UE TripleFi 10

Come on for $4, VE monks are pretty good money spent. They are just a pair of beat arounds. Can we agree that the DM6 sound good at least?

    Upgrading from UE TripleFi 10

I just got my DM6 Yesterday and I've been enjoying them all day. It sounds damn good. I have a pair of Heir Audio 10.0, UE900, and TF10 and been testing against them all day. The DM6 handedly beat out the UE900, kill the TF10 (which I love and have bought 2 pairs), and make the Tin Audio T2...

    STAX SR-5 earpads replacement help

Interesting about the sr-30. The original lambda for sure is in my list. I've not heard the new L series. I'm most curious about the L700, but I'm going to wait for used prices to come down a couple hundred more before making that purchase.

    STAX SR-5 earpads replacement help

Oh Crap....yes my bad. Music Alchemist is much better. My path to STAX was the 207s by way of the 2170 system. Sold it and now use the 304s, the 507s w the SRM-1 MK-2 and the 323 amp at times. Just fell in love with electrostatic sound and never looked back. Now looking to hear more of the...

    STAX SR-5 earpads replacement help

Ok. So I woke up and couldn't wait to try the shure1540 Alcántara. I ripped them off my t50rp mk3 and proceeded to also disassemble the SR-5 pads. There's pics below showing the two pads side by side. Then mounted on the earcups of the SR-5 side by side. There was some dots of dou Le tape...

    STAX SR-5 earpads replacement help

Damn. Thanks Music Alchemy. I own a pair of the massdrop TH-4xx and I didn't even think about the possibility. I also have a pair of Alcántara Shure 1540 pads lying around. I'm going to start messing with them this weekend and report back.

    STAX SR-5 earpads replacement help

Thanks for the wide range of info. I really appreciate the complete picture about Yama as I've not dealt with them directly myself. I'll check out the links and vendors you mentioned as I'll be a STAX user for the foreseeable future. Thanks again.

    STAX SR-5 earpads replacement help

Hello Everyone. I've just bought a pair of SR-5 & SRD-6 combo. Been playing the SR-5s off my SRM-1 MK-2 and they sound detailed and fun. Obviously they are not big on the bass department, but I noticed that if I pushed the headphones towards my head and created a better deal, the bass was more...

Love my ATH-m50s but I am tired of the long coiled wire. Over-Ears are my preference I hate earbuds Please some suggestions from 100-200 Dollars?

Oh and BTW, this article at Innerfidelity is a fun read about closed cans at your price range mostly. The reviewer does talk a lot about the chords. So you might want to read it:   http://www.innerfidelity.com/content/katzs-corner-episode-10-mid-priced-sealed-headphone-survey#BzDG11PYcibporex.97

I'd have to agree. If ur loving the sound signature, the e stick to the M50X and for $99, you can even sell you're pulled M50s for like $70 or $80 locally and the upgrade would be relatively cheap. At that point a cheap Fiio DAC/amp combo will rock the new m50x to a very satisfying level of...

Were the Vmoda the M-100? Cause they can get confused with the cheaper cross-fade LPs. The M-100 sound way better. The T40RP are harp to find on display to try out. But you you can read/watch reviews on YouTube. Good luck and let us know how the search goes.

Since you need closed cans, the Fostex T40RP mk3 could be an option. They are the cheapest planar magnetic and sound way better than the m50s imo. Although these are hard to drive fully with your phone only. Has a short removable chord or a long at home removable chord. Another good suggestion...

BEST portable amp for Sennheiser HD 650

I just got myself a Chord Mojo this week. I have used it to drive my Fostex TH-X00 and I'm very satisfied with both the DAC and it's ability to drive them. Many people use it to drive a variety of headphones: high or low impedance. I've also used it as a a portable rig w my Nexus 6P phone...
