The Official Sony MDR-Z1R Flagship Headphone Thread (Live From IFA 2016)
So I got mine a couple of days ago from Amazon UK. The build quality nad comfort are top notch, except the pads that get sweaty after some time. The sound is warm and meaty, the mids are good, the treble really shines without getting shouty and sharp, but the vocals often do get sibilant. The...- Limu Shirin

The Official Sony MDR-Z1R Flagship Headphone Thread (Live From IFA 2016)
hey everyone, I plan on getting one of these. quick question: are the Mdr Z7 cable compatible with these? I probably wanna get a 4 pin xlr cable for these from forza audio works, but they only list the Z7 cables as an option, hence the question. Thanks- Limu Shirin

Fostex HP-A4BL (the A4 with balanced output)
Yes, that's why HPA-4BL has an optical in. Coxial and optical are basically the same, so you don't need an extra convertor. The cable you mentionted is gonna works. make sure to select the proper input on HPA-4BL.- Limu Shirin

Fostex HP-A4BL (the A4 with balanced output)
I tdon't think they're compatible. Fostex requires 12V-1.5A, but iFi power supply is 12V-1.8A, are they compatible?- Limu Shirin

Fostex HP-A4BL (the A4 with balanced output)
Note that HP-A4 is USB-powered, so don't expect it to drive hungry planars like T50RPs. BTW, since it's USB powered, it (might) pick the PC noise, if you have noisy usb power. you hear some kind of static like in the background and might "here" the movement of the mouse. I still recommend a...- Limu Shirin

Fostex HP-A4BL (the A4 with balanced output)
I don't know about NFB-11, but the Fostex is made in Japan, and has a very low output impedence. So low that even Shure SE846 doesn't pick any hiss or EMI noise from PC. It's much smaller and lighter than NFB-11 and has a balanced output as well. So if you're using super sensetive cans or...- Limu Shirin

I jst received the HPA-4Bl and confirm that it's the cleanest dac/amp I tried with Shure SE846. No noise floor, no EMI interference, no nothing.- Limu Shirin

are there different sizes? I really have problems with spinfit, since they make some kind of vaccum between the inner ear and the earphones and it gets quite uncomfortable sometimes.- Limu Shirin
