Aggressive and Intimate = usually the vocals sounds(3~5khz range) more upfront and sound-stage is a bit more narrower. This is with Ultimate filter setting on the Hugo 2 BTW, haven't tried the Hugo HFR, Mojo and Mojo HFR filters on the Hugo 2.

800S and V281 owner here. They're very good together. Bass is very punchy and extends well. I demoed the HDV820 with an HD800S back when I was in Japan last month and found that the combo's alright. Not really worth the price IMO.

I've had the privilege to demo the GSX Mk2 yesterday with a handful of cans and I would say that as an HD800S owner, the GSX mk2 is something you want to steer away from. For HD600 and HD650, they sound amazing. V281 is still my go to amp for HD800S.

I would avoid anything Schiit offers except the magni series, since they are really cheap.... There have been measurements of the Yggy floating around and it is terrible.

No, The amp has no moving components and as such no burn in is required.

Why sell your RS06? It's basically the same unit minus the potentiometer and resampling options.

Having personally heard the Liquid Gold for a short period of time, it's a tad rough on the edges when compared against the V281. Then again, it needed some time to "warm up" according to the owner of the amp. You may want to look at the Auralic Taurus.

It's an alright pairing, provided your DAC is "compatible" with the 800S.

IMO, polite is opposite of being "upfront". Polite sounding makes certain notes sound further back, while Aggressive/Upfront sounding makes certain notes sound closer.

I'm guessing it will be in monoblock form, unless they are planning to change to tonality of the V281 to cater to the new headphones popping up.(Which IMO, all sound dark relative to the older flagships)

I think the RS05 was made with the DAC RS06 in mind, as it lacks the volume pot and multiple oversampling options the V850 already has. @zghutov If memory serves me correct, I think the V850 also has digital filters that you can change.
