Thank you, so neutron and Onkyo are similar in measurements but the power consumption is huge in case of neutron. Having listened to both the players, I think neutron sounds better than Onkyo.

Nice, Actually If you can do neutron vs stock that would be interesting . I love both the players, neutron though good sounding has cringe worthy UI.

from my experience Neutron music player drains the battery very fast due to audiophile resampling, 64bit processing and I have also enabled 32 bit Output and onkyo also drains fast compared to stock music player,so stock music player gives the best battery backup.   FLAC or ALAC drains equally...

I have tried many players but always come back to the stock music app because the sound quality is really good and the interface is killer.   And about the EQ, I don't find any difference between flat and off

iPhone 6 is the best smartphone for music period. I just love how iPhone delivers the emotion in a voice and the instrument separation is the best I've heard on any smartphone

Don't know about buzzing, but iOS 9.2 seems to bring enhanced sound quality on my iPhone 6..music sounds more detailed and dynamic.
