I agree 100%. And yes ... EQ IS a "magical tool" that is used on every single recording. And then usually again in mastering if/when required. If you have to use EQ to dramatic effect, then you've likely just got the wrong cans. But if they're in the right ballpark, then tweaks, using a quality...

I urge you guys to try True-Fi by Sonarworks. Free trial ... no cc required, just download it and try it out. No setting for Verum (yet ;-) but just use the LCD 2 EQ/ setting which works well, and play with it til you get it just right for 'you'. It also really adds spaciousness too. Great stuff...
