I meant with the same bang for the buck nature. I have small ears, so the sound is consistently off-center. I know I sounded grouchy, but I can never get a consistent fit in my right ear. It's more the concept of ear buds than the ear bud itself. The monk is an awesome ear bud, that being said.

It would be really awesome if VE made an iem equivalent of the monk. I know there are some people who don't like earbuds.

I got a used akg K550 from someone. The pads were damaged, so it seemed like that was the reason why the left channel sounded more "open" and had less subbass than the right channel. I just got replacement pads from Harmon, but the issue is still there. Can someone help me? From 250 hz to 2000...

I think he is saying is that the monks are better than the earbuds he put in the link.

I got my monks yesterday, and they are completely worth the wait. They have the best vocals of any piece of gear I've heard.

What does your teenager want? Open or closed? Over-ear or On-ear? Bassy or neutral? It will be hard to research for headphones if you don't know what you want.   I haven't heard either of your choices, but I think you are under-utilizing the budget if you get those Beats (not saying that Beats...

I don't think you will get that bassy sound with the 650s.   BUMP

Even when I got them to fit, they made the bass louder and the mids + treble less accented. Luckily, I ordered some replacement pads from AKG.

I just got the HM5 pads, and I can't seem to get it on. I tried to stretch one of the pads, but it ripped.

I ordered two monks on the 29th. It has been "posting" in LiaoNingShengShenYangShi since November 5th. I am worried; is it normal for customs to take this long? All I want to do is be able to listen to the monks. :frown:

I am not sure but I think that VE is ditching aliexpress and selling direct.

I checked the status for my Monks, and it says it has been "Posting" since 11/5. Is it stuck in customs? Edit: I looked at everyone else's posts, and it looks like I have quite a bit of waiting to do... FYI, I ordered on the 29th.
