    FiiO X1 II (2nd Gen) w/ Bluetooth!

I meant the x5ii is a good sounding DAP. The x1ii is buggy but sounds better than my phone.  I'm an old timer so we used to play records so gapless is a luxury.

    FiiO X1 II (2nd Gen) w/ Bluetooth!

For 100+ bucks to me it sounds really good. It's still buggy. The bluetooth works fine for me. It's a good grab and go music player. I use mine a lot as I don't amp it. The x3ii and x5ii sound better and in light of the x5iii coming out the x5ii price should drop and that would be a real...

    Westone W60 vs Shure SE846?

I have both and agree the Westones are a more pleasing listening experience but the 846's do a lot of things well. It's a fuller sound. I can easily put in my w40's and think they are 60's for awhile. The Westones have the same sig from w20-w60 and to me the w30 is the best value. The w60's and...

Review by 'anqallyt' on item 'Shure SE846 Sound Isolating™ Earphone'

I finally took the plunge and got these. It's amazing how TOTL IEMS can sound so different.   Bass: Tight and full. Tip dependent. With the triple flanges thought my head was going to blow off. I like the silicone tips.   Mids/Treble:: A bit forward with roll off but very detailed. Good...

    Shure SE846 | Westone W60 | Shure SE535 which one for musicality?

If the 535's sound anything like the 846's then go Westones. I heard the 535's not for long as I sent them back. Took my money back instead of replacing them. I have had the 20,30 and still have the 40. I just bought the 60s. I loved the 30's but I got them at major reduced price and resold them...

    Westone W60 Impressions Thread

I prefer foam tips with any Westone I have used. To me the foamies make the sound more natural as you put it. I use silicone with dunu dn2kj and for some reason they are not too bright for me maybe I'm going deaf!!!

    Westone W60 Impressions Thread

Yeah after reading I could understand your comments or how it is read.  I absolutely agree the w60's and dunu dn-2000j's are not the same sig but I like what the dunu's do. When I got my Grado's I was awed yeah they are high oriented but on unplugged music they sing and are really solid for 70's...

    Westone W60 Impressions Thread

Just got these 2 days ago. First impression was a let down. After 4 hour burn in MUCH better. After 8 hours... Stellar!!! Every BA IEM needs 12 hours before they kick in. I'm 54 so the price is misleading. Back when I was 16 had a 800.00 dollar stereo system with 50.00 headphones so 1K for these...

    FiiO X1 II (2nd Gen) w/ Bluetooth!

yeah I agree about replay gain. But no matter there are always older cd's that need volume adjustment. I have 4 albums I have to bump up 3 or 4 notches. As for gapless I prefer it but a half a sec isn't going to kill me. Might hear something I should. Like the phone.

    FiiO X1 II (2nd Gen) w/ Bluetooth!

Just got this. Firmware 1.4?. It sounds great. It does not display any of my ripped CD's in artist category. All songs went to unknown artist. This is a big problem. On the x3 and 5ii no issues. I was able to play them from the folder options. For the price this thing sounds primo. I am sure in...

If you still love Etymotic ER4, this is the thread for you...

Have to agree with you as the Sony hybrid tips with foam inside silicone sound really good. If I am not at home I prefer foam as they isolate better but I definitely lose treble resolution. I had to use Comply's with Senn ie80's until I found a silicone tip that fit perfectly and sounded full...

Well haha the harshness only comes through on old Dave Clark 5 some lossy files and even some flac. But Rush, Pink Floyd, Spanish classical, Aerosmith lots of  pop they sound stellar. And the 200 hours in burn in not hear in. About 80-90% of the tracks I listened too were fine. I could easily...

Never has with me and I have used/owned 20 different ear buds. They have only enhanced bass and smoothed out treble. Each ear is different. It all depends on the tuning. IMHO it's the(foam)easiest way to get a good seal. But I will take a silicone perfect seal over foam any day. It's not even close.

Nice review. I have the er4s and was going to pull the plug on the SR's but I opted for the Dunu dn-2000j and at first listen heard it all sibilance, harshness but some of the best imaging I have heard in an IEM.  Dunu says 200 hours of burn in. We'll see what happens. Love the Ety's but if I...

Its funny how the same ear bud can sound different. The ear is a finely crafted part of the body. I have zero fatigue with these and find the bass is very present and deep but the mids are laid back. It is track dependent. Some songs the vocals are harsh but most  are stellar. I will see how it...

Just got mine. Wearing standard tips. Out of the box some sibilance but HOLY COW. So natural and detailed. Very impressive. Going to use them for a few weeks to burn in naturally. Not bright at all. But I like Grado's so take it with a grain of salt.

    FiiO X1 II (2nd Gen) w/ Bluetooth!

Absolutely agree. My phone is for phone calls and texting and the odd checking of email. I never use it to play music. The constant recharging of batteries shortens battery life, Cripes my 3.5 year old LG will not a hold a charge for 48 hours and I use it only as an alarm clock. I have the x3ii...

The er4s is great but its all about the seal which is easy for me with the larger triple flange tips. But they are the most uncomfortable things I have put in my ears. I need to make it past 15 minutes then all is well. And these are very clear and clean but not the most fun. I really like them...

I think the er4s will reveal which recordings sound great. Even some lossy tracks can sound better than re-mastered flac or lossless files. I have iTunes, ripped cd's and downloaded lossless tunes and its not a given all lossless sound better than apple lossy files. The ety's are for some...

Why isn't the Focal Spirit Classic more popular!

Best closed cans I have. Had them for over a year now. Got an open box pair for dirt cheap. Heard a friends retail ones and sound exactly the same. They do everything almost really well except vocals can sound like hd650's but slightly quieter but still full. Also these are one of the most...

I just got these for a huge discount and I know why. They don't fit well. It took me about 20 minutes to figure out what tips to use and how to put them in. But holy mackerel do they sound great. Two dynamic drivers and they present everything well. I put my w40's on after and it was a let down...

    Klipch x10's or Klisch x7?

Thanks for the reply. I didn't say they were bass light but just right. If you are into bass you will find these are under the oomph level as opposed to the Senn ie80's which to me have just too much of it. Clip thanks. I have never used one.I am very happy with the sound of the x7's.

    Klipch x10's or Klisch x7?

Just got these for 1/3rd the retail price and for a single BA they are amazing however and its a big one I have never heard so much cable noise from an IEM before. These will not be for moving around but for long car/bus rides. The detail is very good. Of course they are not bass heavy but when...
