Thanks for the honest reply Virtu. I've never used IEMs (unless cheap earbuds count ), much less TOTL ones so I had no idea what to expect. I guess everything has trade-offs. I'll continue to read the reviews with my newly tempered expectations.

It's a shame that the Jotunheim supports balanced in/out but the DAC isn't multibit. The only balanced multibit DACs in Schiit's lineup are the Gunginir and Yggdrasil. I have the Yggy beside of me, but if I could have paired up a multibit DAC with the Jotunheim for under $1k I would have...

You can currently get them in a "Bocote" wood finish. I considered it but instead of paying $1800 for a Bocote cup I paid $1000 for a used Bubinga set. :D
