So I managed to get the pads out. Definitely brightened things up a bit! It also made them very open in the sense that I can hear more outside noise. I think the CMSS3D is more for positioning. I can really tell a difference in my games. It's not really a matter of how it sounds with gaming as much as if I can here others locations. Without CMSS3D your 360 degree sound range is more separated and discrete with certain positions being loud...

The k81dj's are really nice, and are fairly inexpensive. If you plan to use these for portable use just be aware that the A900 and DT770 are pretty big. I have heard nothing but good about all of these headphones.

I can't notice any difference between my logitech speaker port and directly from my audigy 2. :/ I just use my speaker port because it's more convenient and i don't have to get up and reach behind my comp to unplug my speakers and plug in my headphones all the time. To me it makes no difference...

I'll keep my hopes up that they will be good. They probably just needed something to compete with sure at the ipod stores.
