Hasselblad Lens on D700
Leftnose. I completely agree. I think one of the problem that contribute to this "lack of feeling" is the over-processing/over-sharpening of digital files. I had eye surgery recently and had one of my eyes patched, so I was forced to "see" things differently with my one good eye. What it did...- Tuarreg

Hasselblad Lens on D700
Vagarach It looks like my manual focusing was off. I was trying to manual focus through the Live view feature of the D700 and apparently didn't do a very good job! (I don't think it's because of the lens or the camera) T- Tuarreg

Hasselblad Lens on D700
Typo on last post. It should have read: Planar 80/f2.8 w/adapter on Nikon D700, as is this shot as well. I will post some shots on Sonnar 180/f4 tomorrow.- Tuarreg

Hasselblad Lens on D700
"Although if the Hasselblad still works, I would buy a pro pack of C-41 and just shoot portraits of anyone willing enough to pose =) Medium format film won't die anytime soon." Viblin, my 503 and 500 both are working just fine. I have a polaroid back too... might be interesting to get a hold...- Tuarreg

Hasselblad Lens on D700
"Not a very practical setup for anything other than studio work. Certainly workable, and since it only involves the purchase of the adapter why not. Are these T* or the earlier?" Danamr, These are all T*... so what's the difference?- Tuarreg

Hasselblad Lens on D700
I posted on Photo.net and got some interesting and somewhat confusing feedback. So I thought why not here, since I've gotten some good info in the past. Here goes: Back in my film days, I was using the Hasselblad system and upon entering the digital age, I was relunctant to give up the MF...- Tuarreg

D300 extended ISO capabilities
Coming from film cameras, ISO has always been tipped towards low numbers for the best quality. Sure, for action and sports, you might have to go higher than 25-50 ISO, but expect a quality shift downwards. For landscapes for example, you would never think of going higher than 50 ISO. The lower...- Tuarreg

The NIKON Thread (Talk About Nikon Stuff here)
Ok, so if I stick with the D300, my film lenses are just fine, but if I want to step up to D700 or D3, I might want to pickup some of the new FF lenses. Got it! Thanks guys. I'm glad I didn't sell my Nikon gear! Anyone need a F4s, FM2 or 8008s body? Tuarreg- Tuarreg

The NIKON Thread (Talk About Nikon Stuff here)
There is no 'FX' type lens. I meant FF? My question is whether there are any inherent advantages of the DX lens and the FF lenses to the PRE-Digital lenses that Nikon made. So, to take full advantage of what a D300, D700 or D3 can do in terms of image quality, should I buy DX lenses and...- Tuarreg

The NIKON Thread (Talk About Nikon Stuff here)
I am old school Nikon/Hasselblad film photographer who recently decided to get back in by purchasing the D300. Wonderful camera indeed! One of the reasons I did was because I was able to maintain the older lenses like the AF lenses which includes: 300 f4, 80-200 f2.8, 35-70 f2.8, 24 f2.8 and...- Tuarreg

I understand the advantages of not drawing attention to the camera, from being able to catch more candid shots to safety from theft. The less attention the camera draws on itself the better. This brings me to the Sigma DP1 which I was interested in it for its diminutive size and its intriguing...- Tuarreg

Stuart I am intrigued with the Leica mystic and was wondering how you would compare the M8 with current crop of top DSLRs like the Nikon D3 strictly in terms of image quality, as opposed to functionality. Thanks Tuarreg- Tuarreg

This is such a cool forum and a great place to get info on a wide variety of topics, non-head-fi related. A suggestion: How about dividing topics into subcategories for easier browsing? Maybe: PHOTOGRAPHY, CARS, CYCLING, HARLEYS, WATCHES, LIGHTERS, CIGARS, SUNGLASSES, GUNS, SAILING...- Tuarreg
