Interesting. So what's deal with the lossy and lossless compression techniques and people taking about how the lossless files are of bigger size and offer 'audiophile' quality? If AAC is lossy compression format, would it make any difference if I stream high quality (320 Kbps MP3 files)...- satpak

Hello again, cel4145. Thanks for your inputs. Would you consider this AAC format (7.5Mb, bit rate- 256 kbps, sample rate- 44.199 kHz, Volume: -4.4dB) as high quality? Some other songs may be AAC format but might not have the same specs. When you said high bit rate, would that mean 256kbps...- satpak

How do I get high quality audio files from iTunes? Just for a sample, I downloaded a song and by default it was in AAC format (7.5Mb, bit rate- 256 kbps, sample rate- 44.199 kHz, Volume: -4.4dB). I converted that into a WAV format (37.7Mb, bit rate- 1411 kbps, sample size- 16 bit, sample rate-...- satpak

Ok it sounds like the phone has both DAC and an AMP and a computer will just have a DAC? Right? Would this mean using either a DAC or an AMP or perhaps a combination of such devices would make the quality of the sound produced from my phone/Mac better?- satpak
