    How good are IEM's?

I've been sleeping with IEMs for years with the same pair, and had 0 issues. To my ears, they aren't muffled at all. But I'm also using the blue filters with the foam removed - from what I read, that's the best way to listen to them.

    How good are IEM's?

I just got a pair of the SE846 the other day, and I'm enjoying them quite a lot. I also tend to enjoy BA sound though, so... One thing that's a big deal to me is being able to sleep in IEMs, and that's why I don't currently have a pair of customs. They tend to be a little too bulky to sleep in...

    How good are IEM's?

What are you comparing to when you say that? I have to say that, like most of the other posts so far on this thread, really the only way that IEM's are lacking is in sound stage and the physicality of the bass. Other than that, I'd say that for the money, the right IEM will produce better sound.

    1964 Ears Adel IEMs

Well, I just bought the A2e today. I'm excited to try them out. I had an A6 for a while before, but decided I didn't like it that much, because they didn't really make anything sound too special. Hopefully these will sound special with something. If I don't like them for general listening, I'll...

    1964 Ears Adel IEMs

that is the Adel module :) they're removable so that you can exchange them for the adjustable ones and different variants on the Adel modules, as they become available. Also, for instance, my a6 initially came with a broken Adel module. 1964 was able to send me just the module, instead of having...

I... Yeah... I meant that V series. I'll go edit that now... Thanks for pointing that out!

That's correct. Those plugs are for the V series, and their attenuated ear plugs. Not for the Adel series, unfortunately...

They're fairly low profile. I don't think you'll have any issues with wearing things over the top of them. I personally can't side sleep in mine, but mine are the A6 with twice as many drivers. I would think that the A3 will probably be low profile enough to allow side-sleeping.

I got the a6, because it was all I could afford at the time... Also, I was looking for something with less bass than the D7k,which is exactly what I got, so I'm actually really quite pleased with them :)

Well, I personally am a fan of pretty much the same stuff. I had the Denon D7000, so that's a common ground that we have, although I can't say that I've ever tried any of the other headphones that you have.    Anyway, I find that the A6 has more than enough impact for my taste, although the...

Thanks everyone for the kind words, I'll see what I can do about making something a bit more thorough for people's reading, since I feel that my write up, up there didn't really capture everything.   Quote: Well, the A12 certainly has a darker presentation than the A6. The A6 is a nicely...

heh... I went from my bed watching videos to the kitchen table to type this... This may take a while.    Anyway, All transducer types have their own advantages and weaknesses. Since we are talking about IEMs, I will try to keep it in that realm, but I suppose I'll give a broad...

    1964 Ears Adel IEMs

Yeah, I don't think they will. @BobFiggins was talking to them, and I think they told him that they wouldn't reshell a universal to a custom under any circumstances... (not 100% sure about that though...)

I can't say anything for a sale, but I can tell you that all of the Adel series has a very impressive deep bass extension, especially considering that they're balanced armature drivers. you should be totally fine, since it's completely a standalone tube, so I doubt it would matter.

    1964 Ears Adel IEMs

Earlier in this thread I did a comparison over most of the Adel line. IMO, you'd be best off with the A3. The custom fit really, really helps with clarity (IMO, of course) and also, the universal versions tend to have emphasized mids, and slightly recessed bass and treble, in comparison to the...

    1964 Ears Adel IEMs

While that is true, the difference in sound could easily be attributed to the absence of a seal. At least, that's what I think makes that difference. Balanced armatures traditionally have an immense amount of difficulty in keeping their sound (especially bass) when the seal is broken. I think a...

    1964 Ears Adel IEMs

I do, but I'm currently on my phone and not willing to type up my impressions on my phone (it would require more patience than I have) and I'm in bed, so I'd rather avoid going downstairs to start up my computer :p I am listening to my a6 right now though, and they are truly sublime. Maybe I'll...

As BobFiggins said, there is no way for moisture to get into the wood. They are sealed in on all sides, so there is no way for moisture to cause the wood to decay. (BTW, I own the A6,and they are amazing!)

Got my replacement Adel modules in the mail today!    They really do have an enormous effect on the sound. There was always something a bit off about the sound of my A6, but now that I have the new modules installed, they sound AMAZING!!!!   Thanks to 1964 for sending them the day after I...

    1964 Ears Adel IEMs

One of my Adel modules is faulty. It makes a noise similar to creasing mylar whenever I move my head. I was thinking that cleaning it *might* fix that.  I don't think they will. At least, not for the time being. They are no longer using injection molding for the U series. They will be 3D...
