TRINITY - PHANTOM Series - New thread + WORLDS FIRST PUSH PULL HYBRID IEM!*
Hi, I've recently had some issues with the sound cutting out on the stock cables that came with my Phantom Sabre. I contacted Trinity and arranged to try out replacement cables to see if the issue subsides. I haven't used my pair really at all since I bought them over a month ago, so it's...- JimmyTryhard

Yes, they are the classic edition. I don't believe that the MK2 edition is even available anymore, although I could be wrong.- JimmyTryhard

VSONIC GR07 Impressions Thread
I just received my new pair of maroon GR07's after my old silver ones broke. I've gotta say, my god, I am impressed! Everything from the packaging to the sound quality has been improved substantially. The new model has a more compact and appealing packaging, a less flimsy cable, more...- JimmyTryhard

My pair that isn't defective doesn't flex at all no matter which tips are used. On the other hand, the pair that I did find defective had flex issues no matter what the tips were made of, even comply foam tips.- JimmyTryhard

Haha yeah, I've noticed that my grills have had some type of staining since the day that I received them. The first pair that I had also had some stains(possibly glue?) on the grills as well. They don't seem to be earwax as I gently clean them pretty often and the stains the remain. I haven't...- JimmyTryhard

VSONIC GR07 Impressions Thread
Hmmm..... My pair of GR07 Classics gave out a couple of months ago, but I'm finding now that I miss them more than I thought. I currently have $400 IEMs that I try not to take out and about with me, which means that I'm limited to my Apple Earpods when outside of the house. The earpods...- JimmyTryhard

It's really quite weird; the first pair that I received was exactly like yours, but the replacement pair that I received has turned out to be phenomenal. The first pair had insanely loud driver flex, difficult fitting, cutting out issues, and unimpressive sound quality. I was able to get a...- JimmyTryhard

Interesting, I can't wait to read about your thoughts on it. I'm a fan of aftermarkets used on the A83, and I think you may be pleasantly surprised! I think that it's a great way to freshen up the experience, too. Speaking of freshening up the experience, I recently took a 2 week long...- JimmyTryhard

FiiO X5 2nd gen Impressions and Discussion thread
Unfortunately you will likely have to organize your songs if you want to use the X5ii optimally. Most people here use the folder browsing mode, because the default method of organization in the "play by category" mode is a little bit unconventional. Although it may be a hassle to go and...- JimmyTryhard

Ultimately, just narrow down your decision to what you personally need. Everyone has a different purpose for wanting to use the device; for example, I personally need more storage space than my iPhone 5S can provide, and I really enjoy the general design of the X5ii. Sound quality is of course...- JimmyTryhard

Official X5 2nd gen beta firmware download and discussion thread--version 1.27: library search function, replaygain, filter options
Hmm... my device isn't doing the white screen thing that you described. The firmware doesn't work any differently from the old official released version except better from what I've seen. I think it definitely has something to do with your UI tweaks and such. I hope that you figure it out soon.- JimmyTryhard

If your iems are sounding harsh, there's a good chance that you're not getting a deep enough fit with your eartips. Try some Spiral Dots or foam tips. Also, the A83 is the polar opposite from a dark iem, so it may be quite shocking how much treble there is in comparison. Try lowering the volume...- JimmyTryhard

I just got a Dignis brown leather case for my X5ii. To be honest, I wasn't really expecting much from it; I just wanted a case that protected a bit more than the default plastic bumper. While the bumper looks nice, I noticed that a few minute little dents in the aluminum have surfaced from...- JimmyTryhard

Wow. I didn't think it was even possible to fix the wheel. I thought that there was something inherently flawed within the hardware of the device that was holding it back. Turns out it was a software bug. This is truly amazing: the most controversial scroll wheel, the device's biggest...- JimmyTryhard

Hmmmmm... All this talk of cables made me once again try the stock cable(I'm currently using a Linum BaX cable). Nice comparison; are you returning the device for good, or are you planning on getting a replacement? I also wonder what other differences between batches are... It's probably not something confirmed or denied yet within their development team, and if FiiO were to put a statement out about it, then they would then be forced to develop such a thing immediately and be held responsible for their statements. In my experience, I actually did at first notice a difference in the sound signature or something of the sort. I would definitely say that the cable either was more sensitive than the stock or more bright in the treble. It's just very hard to pinpoint whether it's one of the two because I...- JimmyTryhard

Sorry if I was misleading, but what I meant is that I used the program called "mp3tag" to re-tag all of my music files, including file formats such as FLAC. The program is not limited to MP3 files. Oh yeah, I also mostly use file browsing mode. The regular "Play by Category" method is a bit underdeveloped in terms of UI. Hm..... I just tried the foam tip mod, and it didn't prove to be a good combination of tips. I used Comply T-400 in medium with Spiral Dots in medium, and it ended up being too snug a fit. Perhaps if I used smaller comply tips, then the tips would not bulge out as obtrusively as they did. ...- JimmyTryhard
