first you remove the outer pins that hold the connector in place, than you remove the small ones, be gentle because the rip very easily, then you clean then put a lot of flox and new solder in them, you place the new connector in place solder the it back in place, and verify if you did not make...

He could have dumped 5v 30A that would have done no difference, since the amperage used is what the ipod consumes and not what we give it to consume, 9v or 12v on the other hand... He sould try it with different cables and different SD cards, if other SD cards do not work it might be the adapter.

    [PSA] Audio-Technica m30x and m40x problem

Hi folks, i just diagnosed a problem on the ATH-M30x and M40x they have a weak point where the cable that connects the right driver breaks, that's the reason for all those people suddenly not having sound or lower volume on the right side, basically if you collapse your headphones every time you...

sorry, i was wrong you cannot read the itunes database on rockbox what you can do is make rockbox database read the file structure of the hidden folder and add it to its database. I had an idea, just tested it and it works fine, you can use the ipod video simulator to build the database, just...

rockbox can read the OF database, i was asking if you where trying to use the OF database on rockbox or the rockbox built one. I think there are some tools to build the database without rockbox or OF, you should try it

are you using the old bootloader(emCore) or this new one? The old one on the boot menu you have to go to setting and use the format option, then boot fallback image to copy .rockbox to there and then reboot for it to work, else it does not recognise the drive.

it's a way to know if the issue is on the hardware or software, you do not need to keep it rockboxed.

It looks like i could throw this thing from 3th floor and it would only get some scratches, looks skookum, but for 2.700$ with only one sd slot, i don't think its a great buy, you could have an ipod with 1tb bit battery and a good external dac for way less

2.5 ssd are not mSATA, msata are the 1.8 inches one, and yes msata does fit inside the ipod, but the power consumption is still a problem: The msata you specified consumes: Active:140 mW Idle:55 mW Versus the sanDisk family(old values i belive its even better since they tend to be used on...

Official Ipod Video / Classic 5g+5.5g+6g+6.5g+7g SSD Mod thread

that is not true, msata draws way more power than any other option, as you can read here you can have 2x 128gb micro sd cards for way cheaper than a 256gb 1.8 sdd (to be used inside ipod has to be the more expensive 1.8 size) on a quad adapter with 2 extra slots for a future upgrade.

You should totally consider power consumption, and it would be way better to mod it with sd cards instead of ssd's, since you dont need the ssd's specs other than storage capacity
