I had the same thought, but I have had issues with build quality. I get maybe 3 years out of each pair as the little plastic pieces the adjustment slide into break, then V-Moda won't do anything about it.

I ended up getting the P7. I've been using them for about three hours and so far so good. Overall the sound quality is a lot better than my M100s as far as clarity and sound quality. The jury is still out if the bass is better than the 1000XM2s.

Depending on your budget, check out the B&W P7. I ended up going with them over the PX, 1000XM2 and Beats Studio 3. They aren't a noise cancelling headphone, but block out noises better than my V-Modas. They also sound way better than anything else I've tried.
